The Global Language Monitor has announced that "404" is the Top Word of 2013, foreign media reported. In its 14th annual global survey of the English language, "404", the Internet code for failure, came top closely followed by "fail."
据外媒报道，全球语言监控机构近日发布第14次年度全球英语调查结果称，2013年年度最热词汇是提示不能打开网页的互联网代码404，紧随其后的是fail(失败)。
Other high-ranking words from the list reflect a difficult year for the US: "surveillance," "deficit," "filibuster" and "deadlock".
其他上榜词汇还有surveillance(监控)、deficit(赤字)、filibuster(阻碍议案通过)、deadlock(僵局)等，榜单折射出今年美国日子不好过。
