The maternal healthcare market in China is seeing a spike, as China allowed millions of families to have a 2nd child, Reuters reported. An estimated bump of up to 10% in the number of births per year is giving a lift for private hospital operators. Some families are also turning to Guanyin figurines, fertility-boosting foods and traditional Chinese medicine to give birth quickly. The potential customers are mainly urban mothers in their late 30s, a group more likely to seek methods to boost their chances of having a 2nd baby.
