The default Windows XP wallpaper containing rolling green hills, blue sky and fluffy white clouds is probably the most recognizable image in the world. It was taken by Charles O'Rear in 1996, and then sold to Microsoft, foreign media reported. Despite many thinking the photograph, named "Bliss", was taken in Ireland, O'Rear actually captured it in Napa and Sonoma counties in California from the side of a highway. Today the hills are home to a vineyard. Microsoft support for the XP operating system will officially end on April 8.
