As a gathering to facilitate innovation driven developmentand collaborative innovation among government departments, corporate giants andacademic institutes, a 2014 Pujiang Innovation Forum will be held on Oct 24 to25 at DongJiao State Guest Hotel in Shanghai.
Centering on the theme of “Collaborative innovation and sharedopportunities”, the Forum will focus on innovation in the context of globalization and discuss the construction and developmentof global innovation and technology.
Thetwo-day event will have a plenary session, a symposium hosted by guest-of-honorRussia, as well as eight panel discussions which involve topics relatedenterprise, industry, regional, policy and culture. Heilongjiang province has been invited to serve as the guest- of- honorProvince.
The Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, Wan Gang and AndreyFursenko, advisor to the president of the Russian Federation, will both deliverkey-note speeches at the plenary session on the first event day.
The Chairman of the Forum and an academician at the Chinese Academyof Sciences – Xu Guanhua, and Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong will also attend theopening ceremony.
Other noted speakers invited to the plenary session includeXu Kuangdi, honorary chairman of CAE Presidium, famous British scientist andauthor of Big Data: A Revolution ThatWill Transform How We Live, Work, and Think Viktor Mayer-Schönberger,Roland Berger, founder of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and Mrs. LiudmilaOgorodova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
According to the secretariat of the forum, The Guest of HonorCountry Forum is scheduled on the afternoon of October 25 with the theme of‘Enhancing China-Russia Regional Technology Innovation Cooperation’. The Region(City) Forum will focus on ‘Pursuing Quality: Innovation Upgrades the Qualityof Urbanization’. At the same time, plenty of activities at the site of the Guestof Honor Country Forum will be arranged, such as a spot demonstration, socialnetwork and round-table meeting.
This year’s Forum has attracted a total of 84 noted speakersfrom both home and abroad, including 16 senior officials from governments orinternational organizations, 37 famous scholars and 31 overseas entrepreneurs.
Established in 2008, the Forum is jointlyorganized by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghaimunicipal government, and focuses on the study of innovative strategies andpolicies aiming for a global vision and is represents the highest levels in thefield of innovation.
