在习主席即将开始访问英国之际，当地时间10月14日，英国前首相托尼·布莱尔在伦敦接受《中国日报》等媒体采访时表示，非常期待习主席访英，下个十年将是英中关系的黄金时代。

布莱尔指出，英国对于和中国进一步发展关系持非常积极态度，未来十年，将是英中关系的黄金时代（a "golden decade"）。

▌核能高铁合作 nuclear & HSR cooperation
对于媒体广泛报道的中英两国即将在高铁、核能领域开展的合作（business cooperation including a nuclear and high-speed rail project），布莱尔认为，英中在核能和高铁方面有着广阔合作空间。

The UK needs major infrastructure investment in nuclear power and rail construction, and China has the expertise in both and the capital to deploy.
英国需要核能和高铁等基础设施，而中国在上述领域的技术优势和资金优势。

For Britain, nuclear power is very important for the energy mix. We need to make sure that we have diversity of supply … We want to keep this going, but again it's a big investment for the future. China is going to be our partner in this, along with France.

If we renew our railways, we can actually ease a lot of problems of overcrowding, housing and difficulties of people finding work. You must get the rail networks up to speed as a high speed rail network.
英国如果能更新铁路系统，将能解决城市过度拥挤、住房紧张、以及就业难等很多问题。铁路系统必须提升至高铁速度。
▌最佳合作伙伴 best partner
今年3月，英国成为首个申请加入亚投行的主要西方国家。英国财政大臣奥斯本在中国访问期间表示，希望英国成为中国在西方最佳的合作伙伴（China's "best partner in the West"）

Britain really has got the opportunity to become the best western partner for China, we want to do this, this is something that crosses the whole aspects, we join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, which is important.
英国有很好的机会能够成为中国在西方最好的伙伴， 英国也有这个意愿，伙伴关系也将是全方位的，其中英国率先加入亚投行就是重要的一步。
▌人文交流 people to people exchanges
布莱尔同时指出，人文交流（people to people exchanges）也是两国关系中的重要层面，他希望看到更多英国学生到中国学习。

When those people come back to their home country, after studying, they know more about the country, and they know more about the people, culture, which makes for a stronger relationship.
当留学生学成回国，他们对彼此国家的社会、文化都会有着更好的了解，从而促进两国关系的积极发展。

We have British schools which also set up in China, and this is very important; we need to do a lot more, for example, teaching Chinese here in the UK, as this is the way the world is going to be.
近年来，一些英国主流大学等都纷纷在中国设立分校，这点很重要；我们还需要做更多工作，比如推广中文学习，这是整个世界的趋势。
