就在高中毕业前夕，新西兰基督城男子高中（Christchurch Boys' High School）的首席学生代表（Senior Monitor）Jake Bailey被确诊患上致命癌症，只有三周时间可活。他与命运抗争，在毕业典礼上向同学们发表了一段摄人心魄的演讲。
Bailey坐在轮椅上完成了演讲，他鼓励同学们心怀野心，珍惜当下，他说，即使无人能逃死劫，我们也要无畏、要伟大、要高尚、要对拥有的机会心怀感恩。

但我们不可能都成为卓越的学者，或都成为第一十五人橄榄球比赛的最佳选手。我们不可能事事卓越，甚至有时事事都不能卓越，而我们能选择的就是保持道德力。
Moral strength is about make a conscious decision to be a person who doesn't give up, when it would be easy to.
道德力就是自觉成为一个在容易放弃之时不放弃的人。
Jim Rohn said "let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else’s hands, but not you."
吉姆·罗恩说过，“让他们去过那微不足道的生活，而你不要；让他们去做那些毫无意义的争吵，而你不要；让他们去流那些不值一提的泪水，而你不要；让其他人寄美好未来于他人手中，而你不要。”
Here's the thing: None of us get out of life alive so be gallant, be great, be gracious, be grateful for the opportunities you have.

Forget about having long-term dreams. Let's be passionately dedicated to the pursuit of short-term goals. Micro-ambitious. Work with pride on what is in front of us.
