This week students at Xiamen University in Southeast China’s Fujian province have been spreading good news on campus via social media.

这个星期，厦门大学的同学们开始在朋友圈拼命转发一条校园新闻。

On Monday the university canteen started to offer a buffet for 25 yuan ($4). The menu included various dishes, dessert and fruit.

上周一，厦门大学开始在食堂供应25元的自助餐。有丰富的菜品，甜点和饮料。

Students didn’t waste the university’s generosity. They formed a long queue ahead of the canteen opening, just like an Apple Store selling a new iPhone.

于是，当天学生们就开始早早在食堂门口排起了长队, 就像在等一款新的苹果手机。

In two days, the canteen became perhaps the busiest in the whole city.

短短两天内，这家普通的学校餐厅也许就成了全厦门最忙的餐厅。

It's said, good times don’t last long. The university stopped the service after a mere two days because they couldn’t afford it anymore.

然而好景不长，仅仅两天后，学校餐厅就“扛不住”了，于是停止了这项服务。

Local media reported that the canteen still offered the buffet, just not to students. It’s still available to teachers and faculty.

但是当地媒体指出了事实不符，餐厅并未倒闭，它只是教职员工专用餐厅。
