A video showing a deliveryman caressing a female receptionist's face after picking up a package was shared online and attracted a huge attention. Many netizens said it was harassment, while others said the two might be friends. However, police started an investigation and released the results to the public.
According to the report released by the police from the Putuo Police Station in Shanghai, the deliveryman, Wang, and the receptionist, Yang, exchanged contacts in July this year, since Wang frequently gets orders from the same building, and the two became familiar.
On August 10, Wang had picked up an order from a restaurant in the building and caressed Yang's cheeks when he was leaving.
In the surveillance video footage, it could be seen that Yang slapped the deliveryman's hand as the man rushed outside before looking back at her.
However, police say Yang did not report the matter to the police.
Her colleague uploaded the video on the internet and got the attention of the police after causing a negative impact on society.
In response, the police took the initiative to start an investigation and contacted both Wang and Yang.
Yang said she did not want to press charges against Wang.
Wang, on the other hand, was ordered to apologize to Yang, and she accepted his apology.
After the police report was released, many were curious to know who this colleague was, with some saying that it must be a male colleague who pursued her but was rejected, and so he got jealous of the deliveryman.
Some questioned whether the colleague had asked for permission from the lady and the delivery man to post their images on the internet.
"If I haven't guessed wrong, it must be a male colleague." Wrote a user in Guangdong who received more than 1273 upvotes.
"These days, young people flirt a little bit, and all these people are monitoring them, it's too much pressure." Commented another user.
"The parties concerned did not mind. The colleague, on the other hand, made a fuss out of it. Did they even get permission from the girl to publish the video? Normally, shouldn't they ask the girl if she needs help? Just publish the video, do you have copyright?" Commented a user in Guangdong who received more than 1714 upvotes.
