A man has recently gone viral after reporting a foreign national who passed a security check and was cleared to board a flight from Wuxi to Beijing while carrying a lighter.
The man is seen filming while asking a foreign national something through a translation app, in which the foreign national replies yes.
The seemingly confused foreigner then asks the man, "Why?" But the man did not answer, and only asked her another question, "You go to Beijing?" to which she replied "Yes" again, and then the man left.
The man is then seen heading to the boarding gate and asking the staff there for security personnel.
When asked what problem he was facing, he told the staff that he had seen a foreign national who had cleared the security check and was about to board the plane to Beijing, while she was carrying a lighter.
"I want to know how she managed to pass the security check and carry the lighter here?" Asked the man.
After the staff confirmed that he had seen the lighter and she had told him that she was heading to Beijing Daxing International Airport, they followed the man who identified the foreign passenger.
After explaining to her that passengers are not allowed to carry lighters on airplanes in China, the foreign national said sorry and passed the lighter to the man.
However, the man was still not satisfied as he kept asking the staff how she was able to pass the security check with a lighter, but the staff ignored his question.
The lighter was later handed over to a security personnel at the boarding gate, and the foreign national's itinerary was not affected.
It is reported that many countries have not banned carrying lighters on planes, thus, carrying a lighter on planes in China is an honest mistake any foreign national can make.
Note: In China, inflammable and explosive items, such as lighters or matches, are not allowed to be carried in hand luggage or consigned luggage.
