Hong Kong was plunged into fresh chaos on Monday as a general strike followed another weekend of violent protests, paralyzing transportation networks and leading to numerous flight cancellations.
经过又一个周末的暴力抗议之后，香港5日再度陷入新的混乱。一场大罢工引发交通网络瘫痪，并导致大量航班被取消。
Commuters struggled to get to work on time on Monday morning, with many rail and bus services suspended. Some protesters blocked trains from leaving stations while others wedged themselves between train doors.
周一早上，大量轨道和公交服务停运，通勤乘客苦于无法准时上班。一些抗议者阻挠火车离站，更有一些抗议者挤在车门内堵住入口。
周一早高峰期间，环球时报-环球网记者在火车九龙塘至罗湖站的一个车站内，看到反对派故意阻挡地铁车门不许民众乘坐，乘客们怒斥挡门的反对派示威者是“暴徒” 。
另一香港市民提供的一段视频显示，在一个地铁站内，一名孕妇因被阻出行身体不适，其老公在痛斥黑衣人搞冧（垮）香港。

中国日报记者采访到的一位大围居民Susan Tso说：
"These protesters have no respect for other people, as many in Hong Kong don't want to strike. How can these protesters force others to, and who gives them the right?"
“这些抗议者一点都不尊重他人，许多香港人并不想罢工，他们怎么能强迫别人参与，谁给他们的权利？”

Some protesters got into heated arguments and, in some cases, physical confrontations, with disgruntled passengers who objected to their wanton acts that caused long delays and partial cancellation of services.
一些抗议者与愤怒不满的乘客发生激烈口角，甚至肢体冲突，因为后者对他们长时间延误交通，并导致部分交通停运的荒唐行为表示反对。

By noon, changes or suspensions had been forced on 70 bus routes after 15 roads and three tunnels were blocked, Transport Department officials said at a media briefing on Monday afternoon.

Some 100 traffic lights were vandalized, causing confusion and danger to pedestrians and vehicles.

Some protesters placed trolleys and bikes on subway tracks and used gasoline bombs that could cause serious damage and injuries, officials said.

The strike had caused the cancellation of 77 flights in and out of Hong Kong as of 2 pm on Monday, according to Airport Authority.
根据香港机场管理局的数据，截至5日下午2时，罢工已导致77班离港及抵港航班取消。

“你们拆一次，我们升一次”
8月5日晚，一部分极端激进分子来到香港尖沙咀天星码头，再次扯下“五支旗杆”上的国旗，并把国旗扔到海里。
A group of patriotic Hong Kong residents raised the Chinese national flag at the Victoria Harbor on Monday night, after radical protesters took down a national flag from a pole and threw it into the Victoria Harbor earlier in the day, the second time the protestors have carried out such an act in two days.
一些反对派示威者在连登论坛上号召8月6日早晨7点再来破坏。一些爱国爱港人士自发组成了“护旗队”，于8月6日早7点聚集在码头，守护国旗，表达爱国之情。
外媒记者拍下黑衣人暴行
昨晚，美国彭博社记者Aaron Mc Nicholas在香港街头拍下了令人震惊的一幕：
一名无辜的香港本地司机，在香港北角遭到一群黑衣暴徒的围堵，之后他的车子被挥舞着铁棍等凶器的暴徒砸坏，他本人也惨遭暴徒殴打。
从上面这张动图中，大家可以很清楚地看到一辆白色的轿车正在遭到黑衣暴徒们恐怖暴力的袭击，不仅车窗被砸，驾车的香港本地男司机也遭到暴徒偷袭殴打了头部。
视频中，一个从其他区而来的男子驾车驶过北角，穿过抗议者在那里设置了一整天的路障，这让一些人行为失控。司机的车窗被砸烂，司机本人也被打。

另外，有细心的外国网民还发现，不仅那位司机被殴打，车子被砸，他车内的妻子也仅仅因为用手机拍摄下暴徒的暴行，就遭到辱骂和恐吓，手机也被暴力地夺走。
你们可能注意到了，那些带着撬棍和镐的男子正在打碎车窗，车主的妻子跳出来，拍下这一暴行，接着抗议者就试图抢她的手机，其他的抗议者则言语侮辱她的妻子，并威胁她。
视频在社交媒体上也激起了外国网友的愤怒。甚至有一些本来是支持抗议者的人都不再为其说话，怒斥其“暴徒”。
在任何层面上都是错的。
暴徒。
破坏别人的车是不对的，绝对不行。我本来是支持这些抗议者的，但是做出这样的事情，恕我不能忍。
让人不忍直视，更没法为其辩解。跟元朗的那些暴徒差不多。

玉石俱焚，只会将香港推上不归路
At a press conference, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam warned that extreme violence is pushing Hong Kong to a "very dangerous situation."

林郑月娥表示，她明白部分市民对政府有不满，但呼吁大家冷静地想一想，是否要以摧毁香港的稳定繁荣，押上香港七百万多人的民生作代价？这种玉石俱焚的做法，只会将香港推上不归路。
She urged people to peacefully express their demands and not to destroy the prosperous and stable future of Hong Kong.
Violence would send Hong Kong onto a road with no return, she said. Lam said radicals' violent expression of demands has come at the expense of others' freedom and rights.
"Hong Kong's future and the lives of its over 7 million people shouldn't be put at stake," Lam said.
