近日，英国首相鲍里斯·约翰逊（Boris Johnson）在接受BBC采访时谈及华为，一番回答被外媒指“扛住了美国的压力” 。

鲍里斯说，如果有人反对某个品牌，那必须提出替代方案：
"The British public deserve to have access to the best possible technology. We want to put in broadband for everybody."
“英国民众值得享受最先进的技术。我们希望为每一个人提供千兆宽带。”
“Now if people oppose one brand or another then they have to tell us what's the alternative. Right?"
“如果现在有人反对某个品牌，那么他们必须告诉我们还有什么替代选项。是不是？”
美国“游说”英国不要在5G建设中使用华为已经有段时间了，英国政府一直没有明确作出官方回应。就在约翰逊接受采访的前一天，美国还专门派了代表团抵达伦敦，与英国内阁大臣们见面。
Senior US officials handed over a dossier of technical information which sources claim challenged British intelligence's own technical assessment that it would be possible to use Huawei in the 5G infrastructure without risks to national security.
会面时，美国高级别官员移交了一份技术资料给英国。据消息人士，这份资料是在质疑英国情报机构此前作出的技术评估——该评估表明英国可以在不威胁国家安全的情况下使用华为进行5G建设。
It is being seen as the latest effort by US President Donald Trump's administration to lobby the British government as it is expected to make a decision on Huawei in its future 5G network within this month, according to a BBC report.
据英国广播公司报道，这被视作美国政府对英国政府进行的最新一轮游说，因为英国预计在本月内就其未来5G网络建设做出是否排除华为的决定。
The US has warned the British government it "would be madness" to use Huawei technology in the UK's 5G network.
美国警告英国政府，在英国的5G网络中使用华为技术将是“疯狂愚蠢的行为”。
一边 “游说”，一边“警告”，但是约翰逊隔了不到24小时就接受BBC采访，隔空回应了“队友”。
他强调，自己作为首相，当然不会置英国国家安全于不顾。言外之意，这点不用美国来提醒。
英国国家安全局（Military Intelligence 5，又称军情五处）负责人Andrew Parker最近的发言也佐证了约翰逊的言论。

在被问及他是否认为如果英国政府决定继续与华为合作，会失去与“五眼联盟”的情报共享关系时，这位负责英国国家安全的权威人士回答称：
“I’ve no reason today to think that.”
“当下我没有理由这么认为。”
他同时强调，英国想要做个决定这么难，主要是因为5G市场中并没有太多其他选项。
“Perhaps the thing that needs more focus and more discussion is how do we get to a future where there’s a wider range of competition and a wider range of sovereign choices than defaulting to a yes or no about Chinese technology,” Parker said.
“也许需要更多关注和讨论的事情是，我们如何才能走向一个竞争范围更广，主动选择更多的未来，而不是针对中国的科技默认是或否，”帕克说道。
sovereign ：独立自主的
当前，英国四家主流移动通讯运营商——Vodafone、BT、EE 和Three都使用华为产品启动了各自的5G服务。它们都等待着英国政府的决定，同时也不止一次明示，“禁止华为将会使英国在5G时代落后”。
那么，想要搭建5G网络，市场上现在到底有没有华为的替代品呢？
据《卫报》报道：

"That may have been the case back in 2005, but now their antennas are more efficient at the moment, they can handle greater volumes of traffic … It comes down to efficient use of spectrum."
“或许在2005年还能说是这种情况，但是现在，华为的天线效率更高，可以处理更大的流量……这要归功于他们对频谱的有效利用。”
业内普遍认为，华为比竞争对手的技术先进9到18个月，认为“英国民众值得最先进技术”的首相约翰逊，将会做出怎样的最终决定呢？
