10月22日，首批4000只蒙古捐赠羊经内蒙古二连浩特口岸入境中国。中蒙双方在确保防疫安全的前提下，在二连浩特—扎门乌德口岸举行了交接仪式。
新冠肺炎疫情暴发之初，蒙古决定向中国捐赠3万只羊，支持中国抗疫。
Four thousand sheep on the hoof donated by Mongolia arrived at the border city of Ereenhot in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Thursday, waiting to be transferred to Hubei province, which was hit hard by COVID-19 early this year.
It is the first group of the 30,000 sheep that Mongolia offered to donate to China when Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga visited in February.
在中蒙双方紧密合作下，经过半年多精心筹备，蒙古为支持中国抗击新冠肺炎疫情而捐赠的3万只羊正式开始移交中方。
目前，蒙古向中国捐赠的3万只羊均已进入蒙古扎门乌德免疫无疫区进行隔离。
根据中蒙双方商定的计划，3万只羊将分批于11月中旬前运抵中国境内，在二连浩特加工后运往湖北省，以把蒙古政府和人民的心意传递给在抗击疫情中作出巨大贡献的湖北人民。
They will be slaughtered and prepared for delivery to Hubei province.
The remainder of the 26,000 sheep are still under quarantine in the border town of Zamyn-Uud in Mongolia. They will be sent to China in groups before mid-November.
赵立坚回应“羊来了”
10月22日，外交部发言人赵立坚在例行记者会上引用蒙古谚语回应蒙古捐赠羊。
他表示，经过半年多精心筹备，蒙古为支持中国抗疫而捐赠的3万只羊正式开始移交中方。蒙古谚语有云，得志时送骆驼，不如落魄时送根针。蒙古向中国捐赠3万只羊，体现了蒙方对中国政府和人民抗击疫情的坚定支持，生动诠释了人类命运共同体理念，凸显了中蒙两国和两国人民的深情厚谊。
"As a Mongolian proverb goes, the gift of a needle in bad times is worth more than a camel in good times. The 30,000 sheep show Mongolia's firm support to the Chinese government and people in their fight against the epidemic, vividly demonstrate the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and highlight the sincere friendship between the two countries and peoples."
