When it comes to the lies and smears fabricated by Western countries against China during the epidemic, Fu Yu believes that there is a need to find a way to fight back that can fill the language disadvantage so that cultural barriers can be crossed and China's voice can be effectively spread internationally.
Fu Yu admits that he is not a professional in the field of communication. As a young Chinese man, he is outraged when his country is denigrated and vilified; he is also elated when it is developing rapidly. "These are my simple and natural personal emotions", and the way he expresses them is by painting.
He says that in the future he will create more works that express the simple emotions that we all share.
I don't mean to hurt anyone through my work. If my paintings do hurt someone, it is just an accident that happened inadvertently. For me, I do not deliberately attack western regime, western media or anything in particular. I just want to point out injustice. If somebody feels offended, or feels attacked, then actually, I don't think that's my fault.
So, if someone feels he or she is targeted when I point out unfairness, there could be other reasons. Therefore, I focus more on myself. The only thing that I do is speak up for what I think is right by drawing and painting from my heart. That is all I want. I am not under much pressure.
