The latest official data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows that 8.14 million marriages were registered in 2020, down 1.13 million from 2019 and the lowest level in 17 years.
符合法定结婚年龄的初婚公民和二婚者可享受3天法定婚假；晚婚初婚者可享受15天晚婚假（包含3天法定婚假）；结婚时双方不在一地工作（居住）的，其中的一方单位可根据另一方所在地的路程远近，另给予路程假。

关于婚假、产假，多地有调整
Several provinces, including Sichuan, Jiangxi and Guizhou, have released measures to encourage the extension of marriage, maternity and childcare leaves, and places such as Beijing's Chaoyang district announced recently that families with more than one child on the waiting list for public rental apartments can skip the line, to encourage marriage and support the country's third-child regulations.
多重因素导致结婚率下降
人口专家何亚福表示，我国结婚登记人数近年来不断下降是由多重因素导致的。
首先是年轻人数量下降。根据国家统计局数据，我国80后（1980-1989年出生人口，依此类推）、90后、00后人口分别为2.23亿人、2.1亿和1.63亿，整体呈不断下降趋势。
其次，由于结婚成本升高、工作压力大、女性的教育水平和经济独立程度大幅提高等原因，当代年轻人结婚意愿普遍下降。
He Yafu, a demographic expert, attributed the drop in marriage registration rate to the following reasons.
First, a decline in the number of young people. The population of the post-80s, post-90s and post-2000s in China has been on the decline, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Second, the desire of young people to get married has generally fallen due to reasons such as the high work pressure and the great improvement of women's education level and economic independence.

由于我国从上个世纪80年代以来出生性别比偏高，男多女少现象比较普遍，这也是导致近年来结婚登记人数下降的一个重要原因。
