5月20日，一对白发猴子“秀恩爱”的视频在网上走红，视频中，一只猴子频繁地“亲吻”和“抚摸”另外一只猴子，像极了情侣“秀恩爱”的场景。
视频中的猴子其实是生活在广西崇左白头叶猴国家级自然保护区的白头叶猴，是我国特有的国家一级重点保护野生动物，数量比大熊猫还稀有。
工作人员介绍，互相梳理毛发、捉虱子是猴群中最常见的亲密行为与交流方式。视频中“秀恩爱”的场景，其实是它们相互为对方捉虱子。
之所以叫“白头叶猴”，是因为它们的头部有一撮高耸的白色毛冠，且主要以树叶为食。
Characterized by the white hair on their heads, white-headed langurs are found in the karst hills between the Zuojiang and Mingjiang rivers in the city of Chongzuo, Guangxi.
白头叶猴距今已有300万年的生存历史，主要分布在广西崇左市左江和明江之间不足200平方公里的喀斯特石山地区，因而也被称为“石山精灵”。
它们以猴群为社会基本结构，新生的白头叶猴全身呈金黄色，之后逐渐长成白头、白肩、长尾巴的模样。
虽然如今在保护区悠然自得，但白头叶猴种群曾经面临过灭绝的危险。
20世纪50年代，由于毁林开荒、非法盗猎等原因，白头叶猴栖息地不断萎缩，到80年代初种群数量一度锐减至300多只。
The white-headed langur is one of the world's most endangered primate species. In the 1980s, its population dwindled to some 300 due to deforestation, land reclamation and poaching.
为了保护白头叶猴，2005年，广西崇左白头叶猴自治区级自然保护区正式成立，2012年经国务院批准晋升为国家级自然保护区。
In 2005, a regional-level nature reserve was established in Chongzuo to protect the rare primates. It was upgraded into a national reserve in 2012.
如今，白头叶猴数量不断增加，石山植被不断恢复，盗猎盗采、破坏栖息地等现象基本杜绝。
数据显示，经过多方努力，白头叶猴种群数量现已超过1300只。
The population of white-headed langur has increased to around 1,300, according to the white-headed langur national reserve in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
So far, 46.67 hectares of habitat has been restored within the reserve for the benefit of the langurs. An ecological corridor has also been built, along with a botanical garden providing a food source and a remote video monitoring system, helping to solve the problem of habitat fragmentation and assisting with the management and protection of the white-headed langur.
