US President Biden ordered flags at the White House and other federal buildings and military installations to be flown at half-staff through Sunday as a mark of respect for former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe after he was assassinated at a campaign event.

"We know that violent attacks are never acceptable and that gun violence always leaves a deep scar on the communities that are affected by it."
For Biden, it was one more opportunity to fire off glib remarks.
“Gun violence”? This was an assassination... It’s also clearly an effort to add oomph to Biden’s other rhetoric on gun control. Which is largely irrelevant here, as the assassin used a homemade gun in a country that bans guns almost entirely.

Joe Biden says that assassinating Shinzo Abe is a problem of "gun violence." This is perhaps the stupidest thing he has ever said, and that is saying something.
Terrible assassination of Abe is excuse for Biden to use the bulk of his "condolence" statement to complain about "gun violence."
Biden's decision to hijack his death for domestic political expedience is more than malicious. It's moronic.
