The “golden sun bird”, unearthed from the Jinsha archaeological site in Chengdu in 2001, was created by the ancestors of the ancient Shu Kingdom 3,000 years ago. The vivid pattern depicts the mythological story of "Jinwu Carrying the Sun", embodying the ancient Shu people's dream of flying toward the sun and worshiping the light.
The countdown to the Chengdu Universiade begins on April 19, with 100 days left until the start of the event.

The Chengdu Universiade will be a pioneer sporting event that actively implements carbon neutrality.
“Chengdu is well prepared and the organizing committee is doing the best they can do to welcome athletes from all over the world,” said Leonz Eder, acting president of FISU.
Hosting international multisport events is an important pathway and symbol for a city to become internationalized.
The Chengdu Universiade will be the third time that the Chinese mainland hosts the Summer Universiade and it will also be the first time that western China holds a world-class multisport event. As Chengdu endeavors to become a "world-famous city for sports events", hosting the Universiade marks an important milestone.
"Hosting an event successfully can vitalize a city." By hosting the Universiade and revitalizing a city, Chengdu has continuously improved its urban functions and comprehensively improved its quality, making the results of event preparation serve the city and benefit citizens, and striving to create a better life in a park city.
More importantly, it will put the charm, vitality and opportunities of the entire city in the spotlight of the world, bring long-term dividends for the city's economic and social development and opening -up to the outside world, and promote the overall leap of the city's development.
