A mother and son caused a disturbance at a cinema when they forcibly occupied "better" seats than the ones they had purchased during a screening of Detective Chinatown 1900 on Wednesday in Bengbu, Anhui province. The film showing was unable to continue, and the cinema had to refund all 300 audience members for their tickets.

视频显示，电影院内一男子站在后排座位上，情绪激动称“我就坐，你管我怎么着？！”疑似是因座位与他人发生争执。后续警方抵达现场处理，现场观众大喊“出去！出去！”
A video shared by a netizen depicted a man standing on the back row seats in the theater, exclaiming in agitation, "I'll sit here. What are you going to do about it?!" It seemed he was in a seating dispute with others. Subsequently, the police arrived to address the situation.
记者注意到，在相关视频评论区中，疑似当事人发声表示自己坐在13排，涉事男子母亲为2排位置，后因对方霸座产生争执。另一目击者也称该母子因前排视线不好，强行坐到后排，“协商无果后一发不可收……报警、关电影，然后我们全场300人被迫退票。”
One of the involved individuals, commenting on the video, mentioned sitting in row 13, while the mother of the disruptive man occupied a seat in row 2, sparking a seat-related confrontation. Another eyewitness noted that the mother and son forcefully relocated to the back row due to poor visibility in the front row.
1月30日，环球激光巨幕影城工作人员表示警方已处理，票价全部退还给顾客。其称，涉事母子一直不听劝解，“他们两个根本不听我们说的话，而且还打了我们工作人员几拳。”其称对方的座位位于侧面，嫌弃视线不好，“非要坐人家中间的位置，然后就发生口角了。”
Theater staff said on Thursday that the police had intervened, and all ticket prices were refunded to customers. The instigator allegedly "even physically assaulted our staff members a few times".
网友纷纷表示，“选座，不是自己选的吗？”“这真是扰乱公共秩序。”
