这个周末，最值得影迷们奔赴影院的文艺片，大概当属王家卫的《花样年华》(In the Mood for Love）导演特别版（director's cut）。
二十五年前，这部影片在53届戛纳电影节（Cannes Film Festival）大放异彩。梁朝伟凭借此片获得最佳男主角（Best Actor），也成为历史上首位获此殊荣的香港男演员，同时也斩获最佳艺术成就奖（Grand Prix technique）。
在当时上映的版本中，故事发生在六十年代。在报馆工作的周慕云（梁朝伟饰）与太太搬进一间住户多是上海人的公寓，和在船务公司当秘书的苏丽珍（张曼玉饰）及其先生成了邻居。苏丽珍的先生在一家日资公司工作，经常能去日本出差，也给邻居们带回来彼时算新鲜物事的电饭煲，而周慕云的妻子在酒店上班，从些许台词中透露也是个美人。
Set in 1960s, Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung Chiu-wai), who works at a printed media company, moves into an apartment with his wife, where most of the residents are Shanghai natives. They become neighbors with Su Li-zhen (Maggie Cheung Man-yuk), who works as a secretary at a shipping company, and her husband. Su's husband works for a Japanese company and often travels to Japan for business, bringing back then-novel items like rice cookers for the neighbors. Meanwhile, Chow's wife works at a hotel, and from some dialogue, it is hinted that she is also a beauty.
虽然不知道一切是如何开始，但周慕云的妻子和苏丽珍的丈夫偷偷有了婚外情。在难受、压抑、克制和不解等种种复杂情绪的交织中，周慕云和苏丽珍也有了隐晦而难言的感情。但在那样的年代里，他们挣扎在理智和道德的边缘，困守于自己的内心，而终究成了让影迷们唏嘘不已的欲说还休。
Though it is unclear how it all began, Chow's wife and Su's husband secretly engage in an extramarital affair. Amid a mix of emotions such as pain, repression, restraint, and confusion, Chow and Su also develop a subtle and unspoken connection. However, in that era, they struggle on the edge of reason and morality, trapped within their own hearts, ultimately becoming a poignant "what could have been" that leaves fans sighing with regret.
这次重新上映的版本，请顶级团队做了画面4K及声音修复，还新增了王家卫导演珍藏25年的独家片段。在电影末尾，能看到梁朝伟和张曼玉在2000年演绎的一个短故事，在短短几分钟里，梁朝伟成了一家便利店的店主，张曼玉是为情受伤但又决绝豁达的女子。结尾的那一幕，是这个版本的“特别之处”，让观众们不仅可以看到2000年的另一对周慕云和苏丽珍，也是王家卫对这段令人遗憾的情感给出的不同答案。
The latest version, a director's cut, has been restored in 4K image and soundtrack. It also includes exclusive footage, sparingly revealed by director Wong Kar-wai for 25 years. At the end of the film, the audience can see a short story featuring two characters, still played by Leung and Cheung, set in the year 2000. Despite the short piece spanning just a few minutes, Leung, who plays the owner of a convenience store, and Cheung, who portrays a woman who is heartbroken yet resolute and open-hearted, see their roles take on a different ending. This allows the audience to witness Wong Kar-wai's alternative answer to the regretful love story of the 1960s.
据上海媒体报道，结尾的短片，曾仅在第54届戛纳电影节放映过一次，后来这个短故事被改编为王家卫的首部英语片《蓝莓之夜》(My Blueberry Nights），由诺拉·琼斯（Norah Jones）和裘德·洛（Jude Law）等主演。虽然王家卫拍片一向以慢著称，但《蓝莓之夜》却拍得很快，仅用两个月就完成拍摄。这部影片也让王家卫风光地重回《花样年华》的“福地”——法国小城戛纳，成为第60届戛纳电影节的开幕影片（opening film）。
借助王家卫在《一代宗师》里的名言“念念不忘，必有回响”。对于《花样年华》的影迷而言，周慕云和苏丽珍的遗憾，也在许多年后，在大银幕上，有了回响。
