4月6日，记者在地铁3号线卡子门站看到，海报上共有5名角色，列车停稳后，玻璃门正好映照出海报最右边的角色弗利波斯，引发了大家的误解。
The controversy began when social media users shared images of the poster at Kazimen Station on Line 3, expressing discomfort over the eerie depiction of a male character. The figure in question, later identified as first mate Flippos from the theatrical production, appears on the far right of the poster.
Passengers noted that the character's face becomes particularly conspicuous when the subway cars' doors would open, reflecting in the trains' windows and creating an unsettling visual effect.
当天上午，现代快报记者以乘客身份致电南京地铁，一名工作人员表示不太清楚此事，在询问了具体线路和海报位置后，称会反馈这个问题，并在三日内告知反馈结果。
After receiving inquiries on Sunday, Nanjing Metro officials launched a review. "We've coordinated with the advertising contractor and decided to replace the poster shortly," confirmed a metro representative during a follow-up call on Tuesday.
4月9日，弗利波斯的扮演者顾天宇在个人社交媒体上回应此次事件。她调侃称“认领热搜！被骂南京地铁‘男鬼’就是我”，并幽默表示“替弗利波斯大副向通勤的大家在线‘赎罪’”。
舞台剧《海底两万里》改编自法国作家儒勒·凡尔纳的经典长篇科幻小说。讲述了主人公尼摩船长与他掌舵的神奇潜艇鹦鹉螺号被误认为深海水怪，引来各方追捕的故事。
弗利波斯是尼摩船长的大副，也是“海底最强打工人”。她每天不仅要做饭、擦地，还要洗马桶、喂鱼、驱赶食人族，才总是一副不修边幅的模样。尽管事务繁重，这一角色积极乐观，话剧也不含恐怖惊悚元素。角色造型灵感来源于儒勒·凡尔纳。
