前不久，广西灌阳女生刘燕在高考结束后自己挑行李回家，她穿着朴素，用一根木棍当扁担，独自挑着塞得满满当当的两个大包。这一幕感动了许多网友。
Liu Yan, a high school graduate from Guanyang county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, touched the hearts of many after a video of her carrying two heavily stuffed bags on a carrying pole was posted online, going viral. Following the end of the national college entrance exam (gaokao) on Jun 9, Liu was seen carrying her belongings home using a wooden carrying pole, a tool typically used by farmers.
“扁担女孩”刘燕是灌阳县第二高级中学的应届毕业生。6月9日高考结束后，刘燕的母亲来学校接她回家。为了把被褥衣服等物品一次性带走，她的母亲带来家里的扁担。“本来妈妈是想挑扁担的，但是我觉得她平时太辛苦了，所以就自己扛着走了，她在后面帮我拿些轻便的物品。”
得知自己在网上“火了”，刘燕感到很意外。“就是日常搬运行李，没有什么特别的。”刘燕告诉记者，她平时也常用扁担帮家里做农活。
Her unexpected online fame came as a surprise. "It was just an ordinary way to move my things — nothing special," she told reporters, adding that she often uses a pole to help with farm work at home.
6月13日，刘燕用扁担挑着从自家菜地采摘的蔬菜，走在回家路上。
近日，有网民发帖称“‘扁担女孩’开通新媒体账号了”。经过媒体核实，这些社交账号都是冒充的。
近日，刘燕在接受采访时郑重声明：目前本人没有申请注册任何新媒体账号，上大学前都不会注册，也不会发布相关的视频。请大家提高警惕，切勿轻信虚假账号，谨防受骗。
However, her sudden popularity also attracted impersonators, with fake social media accounts claiming to be Liu Yan emerging online. Accepting an interview with the media, Liu promptly issued a clarification: "I have not registered any social media accounts and will not do so before starting university. I also won't be posting any videos. Please stay vigilant and don't fall for scams."
Besides unwanted impersonators, Liu, through her sudden social media fame, has also received numerous offers of financial aid from well-wishers — all of which she has politely declined. "My family and I live happily and don't need assistance. I hope kind-hearted people can direct their support to those who truly need it," she said. "I'm still just me, and the road ahead is mine to walk."
谈及刚刚结束的高考，刘燕眼神坚定，“我感觉发挥正常。”对于更长远的梦想，她说，“我想当一名老师。从小到大遇到的好老师，在我心里种下了希望的种子。希望能考入师范院校，毕业后，我也想尽己所能，回馈社会。”
目前，刘燕已经在灌阳县城的一家餐馆找到了一份暑假工。“能自己赚钱，为家里出份力，我很开心。”
For now, Liu has taken on a summer job at a local restaurant in Guanyang county. "I'm happy to earn my own money and contribute to my family," she said.
