A Russian student studying in China has captured hearts across the country after rescuing an elderly woman from drowning while on a graduation trip.
她毕业旅行至绍兴，在发现一名老人落水后，毫不犹豫冲上前去跃入水中，奋力护住正在下沉的老人，并用中文安慰：“奶奶，放松别怕，我在这。”
在她和岸上居民的共同努力下，老人最终成功获救。
Shakhnaz, a recent graduate from Huzhou University in Zhejiang province, was visiting the ancient city of Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, when she saw an elderly woman fall into a river. Without hesitation, the recent graduate rushed forward and jumped into the water, holding onto the struggling woman and reassuring her in Chinese: "Relax, don't be afraid. I'm here."
With the help of local residents on the riverbank, the elderly woman was successfully brought to safety.

莎河娜斯奋不顾身救人的过程被当地监控拍下，并在网上广泛传播，网友纷纷为她的英勇行为点赞。“你挽救了一个生命，我为你骄傲！”她的母亲也在第一时间发来信息。
外出买水果时，店主认出她，执意不肯收钱，以此感谢她的善举。面对社会各界的称赞，莎河娜斯谦虚地说：“很开心，但其实也只是很普通的一件小事。”
The rescue, captured by a nearby surveillance camera, quickly spread online. Netizens flooded social media with praise for Shakhnaz's courage, calling her a hero.
Locals have also expressed their gratitude. A fruit vendor who recognized Shakhnaz during her visit to a market refused to take her money, thanking Shakhnaz for her bravery.
Despite the widespread attention, Shakhnaz remains humble. "I'm very happy," she said, "but honestly, it was just a very ordinary thing."

Shakhnaz first came to China in 2016 and has spent many years immersed in Chinese culture. She is the only foreign female member of her university's lion dance team and has a Chinese name: Simao.
2024年7月8日，莎河娜斯在湖州市一个公益暑期班教小朋友舞龙。
虽已毕业，莎河娜斯并不想离开湖州，“很喜欢这里，我想继续在这里学习，甚至留下来生活。”
Though she has completed her undergraduate studies, Shakhnaz has no plans to leave. "I really love it here," she said. "I want to keep studying in Huzhou — maybe even settle down."
