职位描述






负责协调国际鹤类基金会在鄱阳湖以及今后可能的在长江中游其他地区的环境教育和公关活动的实施。


设计和实施环境教育和公关活动,参与由合作伙伴开展的环境教育活动,以及与鄱阳湖相关的鹤类迁徙路线上的环境教育和公关工作。(鹤类迁徙路线连接了长江与中国东部和东北部的湿地,为鹤类和其它水禽的迁徙和繁殖提供了极为重要的栖息环境。)


与项目区合作伙伴保持良好的沟通。





基本职责






交流、教育和公关:


在鄱阳湖开展实施与鹤类和湿地生态相关的环境教育和宣传工作。根据需要,工作也会扩展至长江中游地区,以及鹤类飞行路线上的其它地方。

 

为国际鹤类基金会的主要目标群体设计、开发教育活动以及宣教材料。目标群体包括赞助单位/人、科学工作者、政府部门、新闻媒体和公众。


开展社区活动,以便提高环境意识和支持自然保护工作。包括社区直接参与的自然保护活动。


与合作伙伴、政府部门、相关科研人员,以及对国际鹤类基金会的长江项目及其飞行路线项目感兴趣的人员进行积极交流。


为国际鹤类基金会的环境教育活动征召志愿人员。


项目协调和发展:

 协调国际鹤类基金会在鄱阳湖以及长江中游地区的项目和工作计划的顺利实施。


参与国际鹤类基金会的长江流域和其他东亚项目的评估和筹划。


参与项目建议书的起草,以及其他筹款活动。





应聘条件






具有教育学或生物科学的学士学位或以上学位(硕士或博士学位优先),并有三年以上的教育工作经验,能够用清晰、简捷、逻辑和有效的方式进行日常交流和报告。


具有制订环境保护教育项目的经验,能够与中小学生进行有效沟通,积极带动对方参与活动。熟练使用英语(包括口语、阅读和写作),熟悉基本的文字处理和表格软件(如Word 和Excel)。


愿意每年到江西以外地区出差2-4 个月。


良好的组织能力,能够有效安排自己的工作,做到积极与别人进行沟通,同时按时完成所预期的目标,同时也需要把科学信息传授给中小学生和农村群体。能够与其他组织和当地居民建立良好关系。


具有团队精神,分享信息和技术专长。能够迅速适应变化。





优先资格和条件






具有这些资格条件,会优先考虑:

水鸟和湿地方面的教育或宣传经验。

项目设计和管理的经验。

协调不同合作伙伴工作的经验。

评估环境教育项目预期影响的经验。





备注说明






我们将会提供办公室,不过工作经常会在户外进行,所以希望你有充足的体力。对于有残疾的人员,我们也会做出合理的调整以满足其工作要求。

工作需要长时间呆在野外。经常会徒步,偶尔会在较深水中工作。

希望你能具有一定的承重能力。工作中可能会背10公斤的背包,短距离内可能会承重20公斤。

POSITION DESCRIPTION




Title: Education Coordinator - YangtzeBasin Program

Reports To: Yangtze and Black-necked CranePrograms Leader

Department: East Asia

Office location: Nanchang


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Education Coordinator (EC) coordinatesthe implementation of the International Crane Foundation’s (ICF) environmentaleducation and outreach activities at Poyang Lake and, as appropriate, theirexpansion into other parts of the mid Yangtze Basin. The EC designs andimplements Environmental Education (EE) and outreach activities, participatesin EE activities carried out by partners, and works with other ICF staff on EEand outreach activities along the crane flyway linking the Yangtze Basin withwetlands to the north across eastern and northeast China that provide essentialmigratory and breeding habitat for cranes and other waterbirds. The EC maintainsregular communication and good relations with program partners and otherstakeholders.







ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position performs the following dutieson a regular basis:

Communications, Education and PublicRelations:


Develop and implement EE and outreachactivities relevant to crane and wetland conservation at Poyang Lake and asappropriate or requested, into other parts of the mid Yangtze Basin and along theflyway.


Design and develop education activities andwritten materials to inform key audiences about ICF activities, includingdonors, scientists, government agencies, the media and the public.


Participate in community involvementactivities to raise awareness and support for conservation, including directcommunity involvement in conservation.


Communicate orally and in writing withpartners, government agencies, relevant researchers, and interested members ofthe public regarding ICF’s Yangtze Basin and China Crane Flyways Programs.


Identify and utilize volunteers in ICF’seducation activities.

 

Program Coordination and Development:


Coordinate smooth implementation of ICFprojects and work plans for Poyang Lake and other sites in the mid YangtzeBasin.


Contribute to evaluation and planning ofthe Yangtze Basin Program and other East Asian activities of ICF.


Participate in grant writing and other fundraising activities.







REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in education orbiological sciences (Masters or Ph.D. preferred) and three years of educationexperience.


Excellent Chinese written communicationskills, including writing routine correspondence and reports in a clear,concise, logical and effective manner.


Effective verbal communication skills inChinese, speaking clearly and persuasively; and listening with care.


Experience in developing conservationeducation programs that have impact in changing knowledge, attitudes, andbehavior.


Experience working with children and withdeveloping engaging activities that increase knowledge and lead to behaviorchange.


Good communications skills in English toinclude speaking, reading and writing.


Experience using basic features of wordprocessing and spreadsheet software (Word and Excel preferred).


Willingness to travel away from Jiangxi for2-4 months/year.


Excellent organizational skills, includingthe ability to prioritize work, attend to detail, and work with others to meetdesignated deadlines.


Ability to use intuition and experience todeliver scientific content to youth and rural audiences.


Ability to develop professionalrelationships with other organizations and with local people.


Ability to identify problems, collect,organize, and analyze information, and make appropriate decisions or recommendationsto resolve problems.


Work as a constructive member of a team,including the free sharing of information and technical expertise as needed.


Demonstrate respect and sensitivity forothers; inspire trust; and work with integrity and ethically.


Quickly and effectively adapt to changes inwork environment, work tasks, and technologies.







PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with education, or outreach onwaterbirds and wetlands.


Experience in project design andmanagement.


Experience in coordinating the efforts ofmultiple partners.


Experience with evaluating educationprograms for desired impact.

Able to work long days in the field withconsiderable walking; occasionally wade in hip deep water.


Able to carry 20 kg for short distances,and 10 kg with a backpack.
