AWCI Australia Issues the Blue Card for Industry Compliance

  To further enhance skills regulation and compliance standards in the wall and ceiling sector, and in alignment with the Australian government’s increasing oversight of the construction industry, the Association of Wall & Ceiling Industries Australia (AWCI Australia) hereby announces the official implementation of the Blue Card Industry Certification Program.

1. Positioning of the Blue Card
The Blue Card is an official certification issued by AWCI Australia.

• Skills are clearly recorded in a Yes / No format;

• On-site verification is conducted by AWCI assessors;

• It represents a key step in industry self-regulation, closely aligned with future government compliance directions.

  
  

2. Significance of the Blue Card

1. Compliance alignment: Anticipates potential future government requirements for licensing and skills certification;

2. Fair and authoritative: Independent on-site verification by AWCI assessors ensures transparency and credibility;

3. Employer confidence: Certified skills provide a trusted basis for recruitment and engagement;

3. Application Process

1. Complete and submit the application form (name, address, contact details, White Card, photo, etc.);

2. An AWCI assessor will be appointed to verify skills on-site (Yes / No);

3. Upon successful assessment, the Blue Card Industry Certification will be issued.

4. Implementation Requirements
All relevant companies, subcontractors, and workers are strongly encouraged to actively participate in the Blue Card application and certification process. The Blue Card will serve as an important basis for industry compliance and skills recognition, carrying long-term significance for both individuals and businesses.
