APP-A-WEEK
Hello good friends, it’s been too long. For those of you who may have read my previous App-a-Day blog posts, I just wanna say.. No, I didn’t suddenly drop dead back in June (even though the blog did..) and YES, I’m back!
For those who don’t know, I kicked off what’s famously known as the “App-a-Day” blog series this April. (Famously known between my 30 or so loyal readers..) The purpose of the blog was to share an interesting/socially relevant mobile app every day.
During the lifetime of App-a-Day, I published a total of 31 blog posts, each detailing a unique and useful mobile application, one for each post. The blog series ended in June because although I wholeheartedly enjoyed writing the blog, a new publication each and every day proved to be too heavy of a workload for me, as I increasingly had other duties to fulfil. I could have made the blogs shorter (believe me I had the intention of doing that), but to be completely honest, when I start writing I sometime lose track of time as I have a lot of personal insights I wanted to share relating to each app I share. That didn’t work out too well.
I understand that people simply don’t have the time every day to read long stories on their phones, and (with the exception of today’s post) all my future blogs will be extremely concise and down to the point. I’m shooting for one or two paragraph at the most. Also, it’ll be a weekly series instead of daily. I’ll try to post a new one each Monday.
So with that said.. For those of you who’ve followed us through App-a-Day, I hope you enjoyed Season 1. SEASON 2 starts TODAY and if you’re reading this, congratulations! You’re witnessing the premiere of something special. I proudly present to you… the new and improved, App-a-WEEK! (version 2.01)

Alright, so in the spirit of keeping things short, I’m gonna dive right into this week’s app: SWIFTY.
Simply put, SWIFTY is and iOS app that teaches you how to code in Swift! The recently published programming language (by Apple, I might add) used to code iOS applications.
It used to be that you’d have no other choice but to be glued to a computer to learn and write code. What’s even more outrageous, if you’re dealing with Objective-C, Swift and X-Code, you’d need not just any computer.. but specifically a MAC computer (which sadly I currently don’t own) to use X-Code and learn iOS programming.
SWIFTY is an iOS app that teaches you to make iOS apps! Which means you can use it on your iPhone or iPad. The app is free to download and now you can learn Swift on your own terms and your own time, no longer chained to a laptop. It’s quite liberating.. for those of us who are looking to learn Swift at least.
So.. In conclusion. Use SWIFTY to learn the Swift language on the go. Build cool apps. Win.
