ABOUT THE JOB
Our Marketing Managers have a direct and outsized impact on our success, in every market! You will completely own user acquisition in your city. You’ll get to build a user base from scratch, and will then grow that base by combining your strong understanding of the city with an ability to creatively engage its users. Promotions, campaigns, events, brilliant marketing ideas — you conceive, plan and execute it all.
Marketing Managers are the voice, face and soul of Uber in a given city, and they serve as the ambassador of our fun, innovative, service-oriented brand.
Uber’s ability to continually “wow” our users is crucial to our success. Part of your job will be to provide timely, world-class customer service to our users.
You are highly social, and would be thrilled to represent Uber at events and get togethers in your city. Your infectious enthusiasm – and the Uber discount cards you never leave home without! – cause tons of new users to want to check out Uber, our app, and our game-changing service.
WHAT YOU NEED
Language – You need truly exceptional Chinese writing skills (to write awesome blog posts, customer emails, and Tweets) and communication skills. English Proficiency is also desired.
Hustle – Uber moves fast, and runs lean. You’re a fun, charismatic, people person who can talk to anyone; flexible and fearless, you’re also excited to help build something awesome and share it with the world, in a “never turn it off” way.
Ownership – Growth doesn’t happen on its own — Marketing Managers make growth happen. Passionate, self-driven and fearless, they are deeply committed to making Uber a success in their city, and rise to the occasion to solve problems, big and small.
Service Orientation – As the voice of Uber in your city, you’ll use that voice to bring new users onboard, as well as to support and advocate for existing users. You need to be willing to find resolutions to rider issues early, late and often.
Creativity – You’ll be responsible for segmenting the users in your city, continually generating creative but practical marketing ideas, and for executing those ideas.

OPERATIONS MANAGER 运营经理
ABOUT THE JOB
Uber is a marketplace, and our Operations Managers own the entire “supply” side of that marketplace in their city – they optimize the quantity and quality of cars available to our users, and continually improve the rider experience via scheduling, asset utilization, and driver incentive programs.
In practice this requires a unique mix of analytical and interpersonal skills; an ability to use our data to quickly understand trends in supply and user demand, combined with an ability to motivate and incent our partners to behave in ways that take advantage of those insights. Highly refined people skills, as well as toughness, persistence and grit, are required to ensure capacity, while providing the quality of service we demand for our users. This is an intense, business-side startup role which has a clear and direct, impact on the growth of our business.
WHAT YOU NEED
Language – The ability to speak, read and write Mandarin Chinese fluently
Analytical ability – We take an intensely data-driven approach to running our business. In order to efficiently manage the supply of cars we have on the road, you need to be able to constantly monitor and understand trends in supply and demand, and use our data to make the right, data-driven operational decisions.
Business instincts – Inherently curious by nature, you enjoy thinking about what makes different businesses tick. You’d be excited to master Uber’s business model, and would doggedly pursue making that model flourish in your city.
Drive and hustle – Operations Managers are responsible for continually sourcing, signing up, onboarding and motivating the fleet of drivers who are our partners in a city. This requires extreme resourcefulness, and the ability to sell Uber as a partner and platform. Operations Managers also constantly monitor the fleet of cars on the road at any given point in time, optimizing the quantity of cars, guiding their physical location across the city, based on user demand, and ensuring the highest levels of service. This requires the constant focus and the highest levels of dedication.
People skills – You’ll need truly world-class people skills to be able to influence partners to drive at times, in places, and in ways that ensure a world-class experience for our users. Depending on the conversation, you’ll need to be able to charm or cajole our partners accordingly.
