ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Ruiwan Xu

Ruiwan Xu has 5+ years experience in both B2C and B2B growth marketing and has worked at Audible (an Amazon division) as Product Marketing Manager in customer acquisition.
 
She is dedicated to helping companies to scale leveraging innovation strategies and new technologies, both in the US and China.
 
Ruiwan founded CareerTu in 2013, an online Chinese career education platform that has successfully acquired 160,000 users.
 
In 2017, shecofounded Teel Yes and has been dedicated in her effort to help to take the fashion startup to the next level.
 

Roshan Bharwaney

Roshan Bharwaney has been on WPP’s Executive Development team since its inaugural year, 2005. He has helped to develop thousands of leaders and high potentials across the group to achieve their objectives and has facilitated programs in almost 40 countries. 
 
Roshan drives several strategic initiatives for WPP. The WPP Mini MBA programs that he manages develop mid-career specialists into well-rounded business leaders. He boosts digital knowledge and skills across the group with key partnerships. 
 
Prior to WPP he worked in leadership and organizational development for UBS and has worked at Merrill Lynch and RSM Consulting. Roshan has been a course facilitator for Columbia University’s Basic Practicum in Conflict Resolution and New York University’s Managing for Performance Effectiveness.

Roshan is currently pursuing a doctorate in Adult Learning and Leadership at Columbia University and his anticipated dissertation topic will explore how to become a successful horizontal leader. He holds a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia. He was a double major at Duke University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. 
 

Ziwei Peng

Ziwei "Sebastian" Peng is an Assistant Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Sebastian was an Advisory Consultant at Ernst & Young LLP. He also interned at American International Group (AIG) prior to graduation. 
 
Sebastian graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Financial Mathematics in 2014. Sebastian is a CFA Level III Candidate. 
 
Aside from his extensive working experience in the financial services industry, Sebastian serves as a career coach for a full-service career consulting company which helps aspiring young professionals to fulfill career development needs.

Daniel G. Van Der Vliet

Daniel G. Van Der Vliet is The John and Dyan Smith Executive Director of Family Business at Cornell University. Launched in 2014 and housed on the S. C. Johnson Graduate School of Management, the Smith Family Business Initiative at Cornell is developing programs, courses and content for students, business owners and next-generation thinkers in today’s global economy. As director of the Family Business Initiative @ UVM (University of Vermont) from 2003-2014, Mr. Van Der Vliet worked with owners and their successors to find solutions that work for both family and business. He developed and taught Leading and Managing the Family and Closely Held Business, a course at UVM from 2004 - 2013. Previously, as founding Director of the Vermont Business Center from 2004-2008, Mr. Van Der Vliet oversaw the launch and growth of the executive education curriculum and management development seminars at UVM.
