• Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our billion plus users

• Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant

• Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams

• Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality

• Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch (and then some)

• Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (what we build, not just how it looks)

• Proven ability to execute on visual and interaction details

• Excellent communication skills - you should be able to clearly articulate your design decisions

• Pursuing a BA/BS degree or equivalent in a design related field

• Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op

• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

• Use business requirements, market research and user feedback to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements

• Design sketches, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interaction models, specifications and prototypes

• Apply design patterns that scale for IMAX enterprise product solutions

• Ensure that customer research and usability are embedded throughout the product development lifecycle

• Conduct usability testing sessions on existing products to discover user pain points and potential solutions

• Create and update product user guides

• Leverage the unique insights gained from building prototypes to improve the technical and experiential quality of designs

职位要求

• Knowledge of best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as usability principles and techniques

• Visual design experience demonstrated through mockups and style guides

• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong skill level with standard design tools such as Sketch and Adobe XD

• Experience with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Invision, and Zeplin is preferred

• Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, user interviews, contextual inquiry) is a strong plus

• A technical understanding preferably in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript to discuss design alternatives and solutions with developers is a plus

• Experience designing for a variety of form factors including mobile and desktop is preferred
