
TAIWAN's China Airlines has to pay US$90 million settlement to settle a price-fixing suit, which adds to a total of $848 million paid to plaintiffs, of which $485.5 million has been approved by a New York District Court.
According to law firm Kaplan Fox, 21 air cargo carriers have pleaded guilty to conspiring to fix prices on services to and from the US from over two dozen airlines, reported Bloomberg.
Claims against seven airlines are pending which include Air China; Air India; Eva Airways; Asiana; Air New Zealand; Nippon Cargo Airlines and Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings and Polar Air Cargo.
China Airlines is to provide an additional $200,000 for settlement notice and administration costs and will cooperate in the case against the remaining companies
