EUROPEAN all-cargo airline Cargolux has taken delivery of its 11th Boeing 747-8 freighter.
The new aircraft will enable the carrier to increase 747-8F flights between its home base in Luxembourg and Zhengzhou in Henan province to multiple daily connections.
The aircraft was named "City of Zhengzhou" in honour of the airline's partnership with its Chinese shareholder HNCA and its recently established hub in the Chinese city.
On leaving Paine Field near Seattle, the freighter's pilots decided to show off a little. Instead of offering the traditional wing wave (dipping each wing as a thank you to the airbase) at 2,000 feet, they chose to do so immediately after take-off, a company statement said.
