International Council at the CIS International Economic Forum. How are businesses in Russia, China and Eurasia building a new economic bridge?
Against the backdrop of global economic challenges, key players in Eurasia are demonstrating unity. Golda Rinat, CEO of the International Council for Regional Economic Cooperation (developer of the international platform b2b-fair.online), led a delegation of entrepreneurs from Russia, China and CIS countries at the CIS International Economic Forum, which took place on 28 March. His participation not only emphasised the strategic role of the Commonwealth, but also identified China as the main driver of the transformation of trade relations in the region.
Trade turnover between China and CIS countries has grown over the past five years. ‘Today we see how logistics corridors, digital platforms and joint projects are blurring borders. For example, the b2b-fair.online platform has become a digital hub where deals are struck between PRC and CIS enterprises,’ Golda Rinat said during the event. The platform, he said, not only simplifies export-import, but also creates a ‘domino effect’ for small and medium-sized businesses, opening access to niche markets.
Recall the most discussed top projects on Weibo, Douyin and WeChat:
1. ‘Green Silk Road’ - China's solar power plants in Uzbekistan and wind farms in Kazakhstan.
2. ‘Digital Revolution’ - a Shenzhen-based startup that launched a platform for smart agriculture together with Belarusian IT specialists.
The future lies in hybrid projects
Golda Rinat emphasised: ‘CIS is not only about oil and gas. It is about technologies, agribusiness, innovations. For example, China and Russia are already working on a cross-border platform to facilitate cross-border sales, and Kazakhstan has become a hub for Chinese electric cars’.
Experts predict that by 2030 the share of digital trade in the total volume between China and the CIS will increase, and tools such as b2b-fair.online will become its backbone.
The CIS IEF confirmed: Eurasia is building the economy of the future, where technology and mutual trust determine the rules of the game. And while Chinese users are sharing videos of the Kazakh steppes and Russian entrepreneurs are uploading containers through a couple of clicks in b2b-fair.online, one thing is clear - this bridge is already working.
