ECUST 2025 Admission Information on Graduate Programs for International Students
Qualifications
1. Applicants must hold valid foreign passports and in good health, with valid degrees （Bachelor’s degree or above for master programs, Master’s degree or above for Ph.D. programs）.
2. Applicants should meet the following language requirements
· Chinese-taught Programs: minimum requirements of HSK 5 for 210 or HSK 6 for 180. Those who’ve been granted previous degrees from Chinese-taught programs at Chinese universities are exempted from HSK requirements.
· English-taught Programs: minimum requirements of TOEFL 80/IELTS 6.0/Duolingo 105, or provide English-taught proof for previous degrees. Native English speakers do not need to submit the English Proficiency Certificate.

2. Self-sponsored program: June 15th, 2025

Application Procedures
1. Submit application online.
Visit ECUST online application system （http://apply.ecust.edu.cn/）, register, and submit application documents according to the system prompts. Scholarship applicants need to upload the corresponding scholarship application forms.
* Each applicant applies only once, do not make duplicate applications. Multiple scholarship application forms can be uploaded, but only one scholarship will be granted if pass the evaluation.
2. Pay the application fee of 600 CNY.
If you are unable to pay online, please transfer the application fee to ECUST official bank account and upload the remittance receipt in the system before submitting your application.
* The application is invalid if the application fee has not been paid. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded.
Scholarship Programs
1. Chinese Government Scholarship（CGS）
Type A: Bilateral Program/ ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship （ACYLS）/EU Program/AUN Program/ China-Africa Friendship Program, etc.
（1） Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in your home country for CGS opportunities;
（2） Contact College of International Education to obtain a Pre-Admission Notice;
（3） Visit CGS Information Management System for International Students （https://www.campuschina.org/） to submit the online application, select East China University of Science and Technology for Application Institution I, submit all of your application documents to the dispatching authorities before the deadline, download the application form.
Type B: High-level Postgraduate Program/ Belt and Road Program, etc.
Visit CGS Information Management System for International Students （https://www.campuschina.org/） to submit the online application （The agency number of East China University of Science and Technology is 10251）, download the form.
2. Shanghai Government Scholarship（SGS）
Visit Shanghai Government Scholarship Online Application System （https://www.study-shanghai.cn/c.asp?action=AS_SS_Entry） to submit the online application, download the form.
* Please refer to the CGS official website and the notice from your home country’s local international student dispatch department which is in charge of CGS opportunity, to learn more about application details and requirements of CGS-Type A.
* The information of CGS-Type B, SGS will be notified separately.
Application Checklist
1. Copy of passport photo page （Valid until Sept. 1, 2026 and beyond）.
2. Copy of graduation and degree certificate of the highest education.
** Prospective diploma recipients must submit an official document issued by the current school to prove the current study status and expected graduation date. If applicants are admitted, a scan copy of the graduation and degree certificate shall be sent before registration.
3. Transcripts of all courses from undergraduate study.
4. Proof of Chinese or English language proficiency （HSK score obtained on and after September 1st 2023 is valid.）
5. Acceptance Letter （Please be sure to upload if requested by corresponding schools.）
6. Two Recommendation Letters in English or Chinese from Professor or Associate Professor.
** Recommendation Letters should be issued after 1st September 2024 and contain the following information: title, institute, contact information, e-mail and signature of the referee.
7. A Study Plan with a minimum of 800 words and a detailed Research Proposal if prepared.
8. Other supporting documents. （e.g. published papers, awards & certificates）
9. Non-criminal Record Certificate. If applicant is unable to get one at home country, please sign Non-criminal Record Affirmation. International students studying in China can submit a certificate of no bad performance issued by university.
10. Statement of Financial Support.
11. Copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The original form should be kept by applicants. The physical examination must cover all of the items listed in the form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please plan your physical examination schedule carefully as the result is valid for only 6 months. Applicants currently residing in China may submit Residence Permit or Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card in substitute for this form.
** Visit "Download-Application" （https://ies.ecust.edu.cn/en/list.php?id=104） to download forms for 9/10/11.
** Only Chinese or English documents is accepted, if not, notarized copy of Chinese or English translation shall be provided.
In addition to the above application documents, supplementary documents shall be provided when necessary. Application documents will not be returned, whether the application is successful or not.
Evaluation and Admission
1. ECUST adheres to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and openness, and selects international graduates by adopting the "application- evaluation” method.
2. Applicants can check their application status through ECUST online application system. During the application process, the funding status of all students will be displayed as self-funded.
3. After receiving the documents, College of International Education will conduct preliminary review, after which excellent applicants will be selected and sent to school for professional academic review （status in the system is “awaiting academic review”）.
4. The admission list of various scholarship students will be announced on the college website before July 15, 2025. ECUST will issue admission notices and visa application form to the admitted applicants.
Precaution
1. Applicants should ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the application information and application documents provided. Once the Admissions Office or the Certification Department verifies that any documents are not true, the student will not be admitted or the study qualification will be cancelled.
2. After admission and payment of the tuition fees, ECUST will provides relevant documents for applying for a study visa to China.
3. Students may not register at two universities at the same time, which will result in cancellation of their study status.
4. Students must register in the duration specified by the university. If fail to report to the university after the deadline, students will be regarded as having automatically given up their student status and will be disqualified from receiving the scholarship.
5. Bring the original relevant certificates and supporting materials for inspection when register.
Study Term and Fees
The program duration for master students is 2-3 years, with a maximum of 5 years; the course credits are valid for 5 years since the enrollment.
The program duration for Ph.D. students is 3-4 years, with a maximum of 6 years; the course credits are valid for 6 years since the enrollment.

申请资格
1. 申请硕士研究生者：持外国普通护照，身心健康；具有学士或以上学位；
申请博士研究生者：持外国普通护照，身心健康；具有硕士或以上学位。
2. 语言能力：申请中文授课应具有HSK 5级210分(含)或HSK 6级180分（含）以上水平；在中国大学获得中文授课学士学位或硕士学位者可免交HSK 成绩。申请英文授课应具有TOEFL 80（含）或IELTS 6.0（含）或Duolingo 105（含）以上水平；前一学历阶段授课语言为英文或母语为英语的申请者无需提供英语水平证明。
申请时间
奖学金申请：2024年11月15日至2025年2月28日。
自费申请：2024年11月15日至2025年6月15日。

申请流程
1. 在线申请。登陆“华东理工大学国际学生在线服务系统” （http://apply.ecust.edu.cn/），按系统提示完成申请。奖学金申请者还需上传对应奖学金申请表。
*只需申请一次，请勿重复申请。可同时上传多个奖学金申请表，但评审通过后仅可获得一项奖学金。
2.在线支付报名费。如无法进行网上支付，则需将申请费汇入我校指定银行账号，并将汇款凭证扫描件在系统内上传后，再提交申请。
*未支付报名费者申请无效。报名费一经支付，不予退还。
奖学金申请
1.中国政府奖学金
A类：国别双边项目及各类专项奖学金：东盟菁英奖学金、中国-欧盟学生交流项目、中国-AUN项目、单方奖、中非友谊奖学金等。
（1）向本国留学生派遣部门（或该项目奖学金管理机构）提交申请并取得推荐资格；
（2）联系我校索取预录取通知书；
（3）登陆“中国政府奖学金来华留学管理信息系统” （https://www.campuschina.org/）提交申请信息，在“申请院校Ⅰ”中选择华东理工大学，在规定时间内按要求向有关部门完成申请，下载《中国政府奖学金申请表》。
B类：高水平研究生项目、丝绸之路项目等。
登陆“中国政府奖学金来华留学管理信息系统” （https://www.campuschina.org/）提交申请信息，华东理工大学代码为10251，下载申请表。
2.上海政府奖学金
登录“上海政府奖学金在线申请系统” （https://www.study-shanghai.cn/c.asp?action=AS_SS_Entry），选择“华东理工大学”按要求提交相关申请信息，下载申请表。
*中国政府奖学金A类的申请细则及要求，以中国政府奖学金网站、当地留学生派遣部门的通知为准。
*中国政府奖学金B类、上海政府奖学金的申请细则另行通知。
申请材料
1.有效普通护照照片页（有效期至2026年9月1日及以后）
2.最高学历毕业证书、学位证书。
**应届毕业生由本人所在学校出具预计毕业证明，如被录取，需在报到前提供毕业证及学位证书扫描件
3.本科阶段起全部课程成绩单。
4.中文或英文能力证明（2023年9月1日起获得的HSK成绩有效）。
5.导师接收函（若有提交要求）。
6.两封教授或副教授撰写的推荐信，用中文或英文书写。
**推荐信签发时间应晚于2024年9月1日并包含如下信息：推荐人职称、工作单位、联系电话、邮箱及推荐人签名。
7.来华学习计划、研究计划（如有），不少于800字。
8.其他辅助申请材料（如已发表的论文、获奖证书等）。
9.无犯罪记录证明。若本国无法签发无犯罪记录证明，可签署无犯罪记录承诺书；如当前在华学习，可提交在校期间无不良表现证明。
10.经济担保证明。
11.《外国人体格检查表》复印件。原件自行保存，此表格由中国卫生检疫部门统一印制，须英文填写。申请人应严格按照《外国人体格检查表》中要求的项目进行检查。缺项、未贴本人照片或照片上未盖骑缝章、无医师和医院签字盖章的《外国人体格检查表》无效。现居住中国大陆境内，持有有效“外国人居留许可”或“外国人永久居留身份证”者，可用以上两个材料替代此表。

**中英文以外文本的证书，需提供中文或英文翻译件的公证件原件。
除上述申请材料外，必要时需提供补充材料。无论申请成功与否，申请材料不予退还。
审核与录取
1. 我校坚持公平、公正、公开的原则，采用“申请-审核制”的方式选拔国际研究生。
2. 申请人可以通过华东理工大学国际学生在线服务系统查询自己的申请状态。申请过程中所有学生的经费状态将显示为“个人自费”。
3. 国际教育学院进行初审，初审通过后（系统中状态显示为“等待院系学术审核”）择优向相关专业学院推荐，并由专业学院进行学术审核。
4. 各类奖学金生录取名单将于2025年7月15日前在学院网站公布; 我校将向最终被录取的申请者发放录取通知书和《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》。
注意事项
1. 申请者应保证所提供的申请信息及材料的真实与准确，一经招生单位或认证部门查证为不属实，将不予录取或取消学习资格。
2. 录取并缴费后，学校提供办理来华学习签证的相关文件。
3. 学生被录取后，不可同时在两所学校注册学籍，一经查实，将取消学籍。
4. 须按照学校规定的时间办理报到、注册手续。未经批准而逾期不报到者，按自动放弃学籍处理，所获得的奖学金资格亦自动取消。
5. 秋季开学报到时，请携带相关证书及证明材料原件以备查验。

硕士研究生学制2-3年，学习年限不超过5年，课程学分有效期自入学开始为5年；
博士研究生学制3-4年，学习年限不超过6年，课程学分有效期自入学开始为6年。
