Disciplines and Specialties Advantages 学科和专业优势
GDUFS has established a disciplinary structure driven by twin engines of development -- foreign languages and non-foreign language disciplines, fostering the coordinated development of multiple fields. It is a teaching and research-oriented university with eight major disciplines, including literature, economics, management, law, engineering, science, education, and art, among others. In 2010, the university was recognized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education as the only university in the Province distinguished by its focus on internationalization.

The PhD and Master’s Programs in Global Economic Governance are an interdisciplinary graduate initiative based on the Applied Economics discipline. It offers three focused research tracks: Global Trade and Investment Governance, Global Value Chains and Industrial Governance, as well as Global Economic Governance Innovation with China's Participation. These programs are designed to nurture high-caliber, research- and application-oriented professionals with a global vision. Graduates will not only master foundational theories across economics, management, and international political economy but also attain specialized expertise in fields such as international trade, international investment, international finance, global industrial strategy, and transnational enterprise management.
【European Studies】

Launched in 2009 as China’s first Master's Program in European Studies and open for enrollment nationwide, the program leverages the strength of the Foreign Language and Literature discipline through an interdisciplinary approach. It is divided into three research directions: European Politics and Diplomacy, European Economic Studies, and European Social and Cultural Studies. The aim is to cultivate professionals who are not only experts in European-related fields but who also possess a broad, international perspective.
广东外语外贸大学形成了外语学科与非外语学科"双轮驱动"、多学科协同发展的学科格局，是拥有分属文学、经济学、管理学、法学、工学、理学、教育学、艺术学等8大学科门类的教学研究型大学。2010年，学校被广东省教育厅确定为广东省唯一的国际化办学特色鲜明的大学。
全球经济治理硕博士是依托于应用经济学一级学科的跨学科硕士研究生培养项目，下设全球贸易投资治理、全球价值链与产业治理、全球经济治理创新与中国参与三个研究方向。本专业旨在培养具有全球视野，既了解经济学、管理学、国际政治经济学等学科领域的基本理论，又在国际贸易、国际投资、国际金融、国际产业战略、跨国企业管理等学科领域的一个方向具有一定造诣的研究应用型高素质人才。
欧洲学硕士项目于2009年面向全国招生，是中国首创欧洲学硕士点，依托于外国语言文学一级学科的跨学科硕士研究生培养项目，下设欧洲政治与外交研究、欧洲经济研究、欧洲社会与文化研究三个研究方向。本专业旨在培养既精通欧洲相关领域的专业知识，又拥有国际视野的高素质人才。

Graduates of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies consistently boast high employment rates, secure prestigious positions, and demonstrate exceptional language proficiency. According to the 2023 National Graduate Salary Index published by China Salary Network, GDUFS ranks 7th nationwide and holds the top spot in Guangdong Province. Employment rates for programs such as International Business, Economics, and International Trade have remained impressively above 96%.
Furthermore, the MYCOS survey report highlights that for many years, not only have our graduates excelled in national employment rankings, but employers have also expressed an outstanding 95% satisfaction rate with their performance. In the 2022 Graduate Employment Quality Report, employer’s satisfaction with GDUFS graduates reached an extraordinary 99.98%, while graduates themselves reported nearly 100% satisfaction with their current job positions.

International Talent Development
国际化人才培养特色
The Campus EUROASIA International Talents Development Program is a collaborative initiative between GDUFS and nine prestigious European institutions: Lancaster University (UK), Rennes School of Business (France), University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Italy), University of Porto (Portugal), Sofia University (Bulgaria), Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland), Charles University (Czech Republic), and the University of Macerata (Italy). The program was officially recognized as an innovative international talent training project by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in June 2020.
Established on a national-level collaborative innovation platform in partnership with provincial and ministerial research institutions, this program leverages our expertise in global economic governance to develop high-caliber, multidisciplinary professionals. It aims to cultivate high-caliber, multidisciplinary professionals who contribute to international rule-making, serve the Belt and Road Initiative, and participate in global economic governance..
Each year, approximately 12 outstanding graduate students are selected to study abroad or pursue double degree opportunities. To date, over 30 students have completed their oversea education through Campus EUROASIA Program. Notably, in 2021, Ms. Huang Shexiu secured an internship with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), while Ms. Zheng Danni obtained an internship with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Furthermore, 15 students have gained valuable hands-on experience through internships with international organizations and prestigious European research institutions.
“欧亚校园”国际化人才培养项目是由广东外语外贸大学联合欧洲9所知名院校（英国兰卡斯特大学、法国雷恩商学院、意大利那不勒斯东方大学、葡萄牙波尔图大学、保加利亚索菲亚大学、波兰托伦哥白尼大学、波兰波兹南密茨凯维奇大学、捷克查理大学、意大利马切拉塔大学）共同规划与实施的国际化人才培养项目，于2020年6月获国家留基委创新型人才国际合作培养项目立项。该项目依托研究院省部共建国家级协同创新中心平台优势，充分发挥全球经济治理专长，旨在培养参与国际规则制定、服务“一带一路”倡议和全球经济治理的高端型复合类人才。每年遴选12名左右研究生赴国外访学或攻读双学位。迄今为止，已有30余名学生通过该项目赴国外深造，其中2021年参加项目的学生黄社秀获联合国贸易和发展会议（UNCTAD）录取，获得联合国实习机会；郑丹妮获得联合国国际民用航空组织（ICAO）实习生录取。另有15位学生在国际组织和欧洲科研院所实习。
Professional Faulty Team
我们的师资队伍
GIIS boasts a highly qualified faculty, including 21 professors and 7 associate professors. Among them, 17 serve as graduate and doctoral supervisors for the Master’s and Ph.D. programs in Global Economic Governance, 12 are supervisors for the Master’s program in European Studies, and 5 in Country and Regional Studies. The faculty includes 8 chief experts for major projects funded by the China’s National Social Science Fund, with over 10 national-level social science projects currently being undertaken. The younger faculty members also lead national-level research initiatives.
Additionally, the institute has appointed renowned international scholars as distinguished researchers, such as Professor Colin Mackerras from the Australian Academy of the Humanities and Professor John Kirton from the University of Toronto in Canada.
研究院导师队伍实力雄厚，现有教授21名，副教授7名，其中现有全球经济治理硕、博士研究生导师17名，欧洲学硕士生导师12名，国别和区域研究博士生导师5名，导师队伍中有国家社科基金重大项目首席专家8名，承担10余项国家社科重大项目，青年导师均主持国家级课题。并聘请了澳大利亚人文学院院士马克林教授、加拿大多伦多大学科顿教授等国外诸多著名学者担任特聘研究员。

报考条件与报考方式
Application Procedure
1.Registration: March 1, 2025 – June 30, 2025
2.Online Application: Visit gdufs.17gz.org to register and complete your application. Once registered, please confirm your application with the International Student Admissions Office via telephone or email.
3. Admission Requirements
(1) Non-Chinese nationality, must hold a valid foreign passport, and meet the requirements of the “Jiao Wai Han [2020] No. 12.”
(2) Applicants must be in sound physical and mental condition, meeting the standards defined by the Chinese government for obtaining a study visa or residence permit.
(3) A friendly attitude toward China is essential. Applicants should abide by all Chinese laws, regulations, and the university’s policies, maintain excellent academic performance and conduct, and have no records of disciplinary violations, public security penalties, or criminal offenses.
(4) Applicants’ educational background and language proficiency must meet the specific requirements of the program.
(5) For scholarship applicants: Those applying for a bachelor’s degree shall be under the age of 30; Those applying for a Master’s degree shall be under the age of 35; Those applying for a PhD degree shall be under the age of 40.
(6) Applicants must also comply with all other pertinent legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Required Documents
Documents required for Postgraduate
(1) Undergraduate diploma and bachelor degree certificate and academic transcripts, the notarized Chinese or English version must be provided if the originals are in other languages.
(2) Photocopy of new HSK level 5 certificate with score of 180 points or above level for those who applying for Chinese-taught programs.
(3) Must take part in entrance exam including written exam and interview;
(4) Copies of two recommendation letters from your referees. The title of your referees should be associate professor or above.
(5) A study plan about 1500 words, as well as the abstract of the undergraduate graduation thesis.
(6) Photocopy of passport main page and Chinese visa page *(if have), and a 1-inch digital bareheaded colorized photo.
(7) Medical examination report valid within 6 months.
(8) Other necessary materials informed by the University additionally.

(1) 不具有中国国籍，持有外国护照并符合《教外函[2020]12号》的相关要求。
(2) 身心健康，符合中国政府规定的、达到办理来华学习签证或居留证件的体检标准。
(3) 对华友好，遵守中国法律法规及校纪校规，勤奋好学，成绩优秀，品行端正；无违反校规校纪行为的记录，无治安处罚，无犯罪记录。
(4) 学历及语言水平达到所申请专业的要求。
(5) 如有申请奖学金需求，申请攻读学士学位者，年龄一般不超过30周岁；申请攻读硕士学位者，年龄一般不超过35周岁；申请攻读博士学位者，年龄一般不超过40周岁。
(6) 遵守其他相关法律法规要求的事项。

2. The program normally lasts for three years. The first year focuses on immersive on-campus learning, while the subsequent two years are dedicated to industry internships and dissertation.

Degree Conferral 学位授予
Candidates who successfully complete all required coursework and practical training, accumulate the necessary credits, and pass their dissertation defense will be awarded professional degrees in accordance with the postgraduate registration and degree conferral regulations of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Depending on the program that an applicant chooses, the following degrees could be conferred:
•Doctoral Degree in Global Economic Governance
• Master's Degree in Global Economic Governance
• Master's Degree in European Studies
Upon degree conferral, graduates will be issued official Master's or Doctoral certificates.
完成课程学习及实践环节，修满规定学分，通过学位论文答辩者，按照广东外语外贸大学研究生学籍管理和学位授予的相关规定授予全球经济治理（博士）、全球经济治理（硕士）、欧洲学（硕士）专业学位，并颁发硕、博士研究生毕业证书。
