At Dulwich Puxi, belonging begins with our Houses. In the past two weeks, two traditions brought our students together: the House Sorting Ceremony in Primary and the House Banquet in Senior School.
For our youngest, the Sorting Hat brought nerves, cheers, and smiles.

"I felt good because I was sorted into Song House. I was pleased because my brother was sorted into the same house as me."
In Senior School, the Banquet was a moment of pride and spirit, as House Captains stood before their peers and inspired them for the year ahead. Long tables, laughter, and speeches reminded us that being part of a House means more than just wearing a colour, it’s about standing together.
Our four Houses, Song, Yung, Moussa and Shackleton, aren’t just names. They represent leadership, creativity, inclusivity, courage, community spirit, teamwork and friendship.
Named after Song Qingling, who stood up for the Chinese commoners and who was respected and loved by allmregardless of gender or age. Song House embodies the qualities of leadership and perseverance.
Named for Yung Wing, an inspiring man who broke boundaries by being the first Chinese person to graduate from an American university. Yung House is synonymous with creativity and artistic expression.
Named after pioneering female scientist and advocate for peace, Sameera Moussa. Moussa House represents inclusivity, embracing the diversity of our community.
Named after the great British Antarctic explorer and Dulwich College alumni Ernest Shackleton. Shackleton House echoes the adventurous spirit of exploration and courage.
These Houses are not just symbols; they embody our commitment to holistic education and student well-being. They are a part of the foundation upon which we build our students' futures.
As we embark on a new year filled with House events and opportunities for living out our school values, remember that you are part of something extraordinary – a community that lives out its values, which are rooted in tradition. Here, we belong!

在中学部，学院盛宴则是自豪与精神的时刻。新任学院队长们站在同学面前，为新学年送上鼓舞人心的讲话。长桌、欢声笑语与演讲提醒着我们：成为学院的一员，不只是穿上某个颜色，而是肩并肩、心连心地站在一起。
我们的四个学院不仅仅是名字，它们象征着领导力、创造力、包容性、勇气、社区精神、团队协作与友谊。
以宋庆龄的名字命名，她为中国做出了不可磨灭的贡献，受到所有中国人民的尊重和爱戴。Song学院体现了领导才能和坚韧不拔的品质。
以容闳的名字命名，他是第一位打破界限，从美国大学毕业的中国人。Yung学院是创造力和艺术表现力的代名词。
以先锋女科学家及和平主义者Sameera Moussa的名字命名。Moussa学院代表包容，体现着德威社区的多样性。
以伟大的英国南极探险家、德威校友Ernest Shackleton的名字命名。Shackleton学院代表了探索以及勇于冒险的精神。
