Founded in 1994 by CITIC Group (CITIC Group Corporation) and ClubCorp, Inc. (USA), the Capital Club inaugurated a new chapter in China’s business life as the nation’s first international business club, setting a benchmark for professional, globally minded networking.
Poised atop Capital Mansion at 183 meters, the Club commands a 360-degree panorama of Beijing-a seamless dialogue between antiquity and modernity. The Forbidden City, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Bird’s Nest (National Stadium), the Water Cube (National Aquatics Center), and the city’s distant green ridgelines unfold in a single sweep. Across the skyline, CITIC Tower (China Zun) stands in view, and by night the capital shimmers in a luminous tableau.
At the turn of the century, amid a pivotal phase of reform and opening-up, The Capital Club leveraged its privileged networks and exacting service standards to catalyze cultural exchange and commerce between China and the world-earning enduring esteem among public and private leaders at home and abroad. In December 2021, CITIC acquired the remaining U.S. equity, and the Club became a wholly owned subsidiary of CITIC Group.
