Loh Wee Keng

Chairman 

Managing Director Regal Plus (Beijing)

    Loh Wee Keng started his China journey in 1995 as Regional Manager (Greater China Area) at Automobile Bavarian (The first BMW importer to assemble the vehicle outside Germany which was later bought over by SCAS Investment Group 中汽南方投资集团). But Loh Wee Keng is most notable for his remarkable work in the food and trading industry in China. 
    In 2004, he ventured into the international trading business especially in manufacturing and distributing food and brought the taste of Malaysia to China. Loh Wee Keng frequently features in local media and has been the spokesperson for Malaysia and its most celebrated fruit - Durian.  Like many Malaysian people of Chinese descent, Loh speaks fluently in Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Malay (An Austronesian language officially spoken in Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore)He currently spearhead Regal Plus, a nationwide food distribution company based in Beijing. He also runs a consultancy firm that provides business consultancy services to enterprises that focus on Malaysia-China Bilateral Trade. Other business ventures of Loh include automotive spare parts and animal feeds.  
    Mr Loh Wee Keng was also among the founding members of MayCham. He was in the Maycham China TASK FORCE committees back in 2003 when MayCham China formally submit the chamber application to the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). He has since been actively involved in Chamber activities. He held various portfolios over the years as a committee member, which include Membership Director, Social and Sports Director, Business Director, Deputy Secretary-General, and Vice-Chairman. 



Will Fung

Immediate Past Chairman

Senior Foreign Counsel

    Will Fung obtained his LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Leeds, School of Law in 1999 and began his legal practice in Malaysia in 2001. He is among the first foreign legal consultants registered with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice. Currently, he serves as a Senior Foreign Counsel at Grandall Law Firm (Beijing) and concurrently as the Principal Partner of Messrs Richard Wee Chambers (a member of Grandall Law Firm), Malaysia.

    In addition, Mr. Fung is a legal member of the Gerson Lehrman Group, a member of the Malaysian Bar, a member of the Malaysian Bar International Practice Committee, and a legal committee member of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). He also served as the Chairman of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in China (MAYCHAM China) from 2017 to 2021.

    With nearly 24 years of experience in legal practice and consultancy, leveraging his extensive professional background in legal services across China and Southeast Asia. He has been frequently invited as a speaker and guest mentor, sharing insights at international forums such as the Belt and Road Initiative-related ASEAN Investment and Risk Control Forums, and providing guidance to Chinese lawyers on foreign-related legal practices, particularly those involving Southeast Asia.

    Mr. Fung specializes in corporate mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, cross-border investments, corporate law, and commercial law. He excels in leveraging his legal expertise, negotiation skills, and English proficiency to analyze and anticipate potential project risks. By integrating legal thinking with business logic, he provides clients with valuable risk advisories and legal support.



Ryan Hoo

Vice Chairman

Shangri-La Beijing / Resident Manager

    Hospitality professional with over 25 years experience in Hotel management, specializes in Food & Beverage and Hotel Operations. Began his career with Shangri-La Group since 2005. Achieving milestones in cities including Dubai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Jinan and now based in Beijing. With his strong leadership and result oriented mind set, he leads his team to drives business strategies, hosting memorable guest experience and achieving financial results.

    Ryan is also the Organizing Chairman for MGI (Merdeka Golf Invitation), a well reputed golf event in Beijing. He actively organize monthly tournaments, creating opportunities for networking and socializing in a relaxed environment.



Michelle Tiong (PHD)

Secretary General

Associate Professor (China University) , Hornbill AI (Co-Founder)

    A Sarawakian researcher and advocate in sustainability and green technology, dedicated to engineering a carbon-neutral future. Since 2020, her pioneering work at Chinese universities has focused on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS),  with expertise spanning low-carbon cement and CO2 mineralization.  Her contributions have earned her prestigious recognitions, including the Top 10 Honoree of 2025 Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) and Global Women's Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET). She actively bridges Malaysia and China in green technology collaboration, sharing her insights as a speaker at conferences and forums, as well as inspiring future talents as a trainer for student competitions in green technology development.



Lim Ban Fong (Ben)

Deputy Secretary General & Relations and Development Director

Regional Representative for ASEAN at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB)

    Mr. Lim is the Director Regional Representative for ASEAN  of CKGSB, one of the major graduate business schools in China, with a leading role in the growing Chinese private sector. Before this role, he was top management of a Malaysian Retailed listed in HKex, responsible for the Group's risk management. He has previously worked with KPMG. Lim Ban Fong is Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). 



Lim Jia Keat (Jacky)

Treasurer

Marketing Manager, Beijing Starflow Control Co., Ltd

    Mr. Lim graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University, in 2024. Since then, he has been working in chemical industry, focusing on market development and technical collaboration. His main responsibilities include technical communication with overseas clients, participation in international oil and gas exhibitions, independent client development and management, as well as formulating customized solutions and go-to-market (GTM) strategies.

    Beijing Starflow Control Co., Ltd is a national high-tech enterprise that promotes technologies developed by academic teams and academicians. The company is committed to providing efficient process intensification and separation solutions for the chemical industry, with applications in carbon capture, hydrogen sulfide treatment, associated gas recovery, and distillation.



Ng Yen Kar

Deputy Treasurer

Regional Financial Controller of LSH Auto China

    Ng Yen Kar (ACMA, CGMA, CA) works as a finance professional started from Malaysia to Indonesia, and moved to China in year 2015 by joining LSH Auto China, one of the leading automotive dealer groups in China. He has experience in IT, Media, Plantation & Automotive industries. In China, He worked and lived in Zhengzhou, Tianjin and now based in Beijing. Yen Kar is experience in financial management, business performance management, process enhancement and compliance control. Beside Finance jobs, he also has experience in business and procurement management jobs.



Goh Chye Poh (PhD)

Membership Director


    Currently based at an international media company, Dr. Chye Poh Goh has been instrumental in producing award-winning translations of public welfare documentary films, which have garnered recognition at multiple prestigious international film festivals.

    A highly experienced event strategist and bilingual host, she has successfully planned and emceed high-impact events, including global academic symposia, cultural galas, and corporate launch events, while also contributing to international co-productions in film and television.

    Previously, she served as a broadcast journalist at Media Prima, Malaysia’s foremost mainstream media company, where she played a key role in shaping content for current affairs panel discussions, international news bulletins, and sports entertainment programs. Her outstanding contributions to cultural exchange were acknowledged in 2024 with the "Special Contribution Award in Cultural Communication."



Quah Shau Jia @ Francis Ke

With strong analytical background, Francis (MBA, ACMA, CGMA) drives business strategic development needs and product quality with the ability to delivering engaging guest experience and achieving financial returns for the property together with his team. 


Hoo Yau Meng

Event Deputy Director

JW Marriott Hotel Beijing Central / Executive Chef

    Mr. Hoo arrived in China in 2012 and has been living in China for 13 years. He has worked in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and currently resides in Beijing, China.

    With over 20 years of experience in the hotel and catering industry, Hoo Yau Meng currently serves as the Executive Chef at the JW Marriott Hotel Beijing Central (Yuecai JW Marriott). His previous roles include Executive Chef at the InterContinental Guangzhou, Shangri-La Hotel Shenzhen, Pre-opening Hotel Jen Beijing and Executive Sous Chef Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai. He specializes in menu development, kitchen operations management, food safety control, and team training, and possesses experience in hotel pre-opening preparations.

    He earned a Swiss-certified Professional Chef and Hotel Management Diploma from the First City University College (formerly KDU International College) in Malaysia in 2000. He also holds several professional certifications, including the Shangri-La Advanced Diploma (awarded as an Outstanding Student) and HACCP Food Safety Management System certification.



Lee Yaw Chyi (YC)

Internal Audit Director

    Mr. Lee graduated from Lincoln University in New Zealand with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Management, majoring in Accounting and Finance. Before entering the hospitality industry, he worked as an external auditor with Ernst & Young for 3 years, covering areas including manufacturing, trading, banking, hotels, and gaming industry (universal gaming). In addition, he has held senior positions in companies such as Accor Group, Century Hotel Group, Marriott International, and Shangri-La Group in markets like Malaysia, Vietnam, and China, accumulating extensive experience in the hotel industry. Currently, he serves as the CFO of Beijing Shangri-La Hotel. His areas of expertise include finance, accounting, event management, and hotel services.



Cocoa Hau

Media and Strategic Communication Director

iQIYI iFILM Studio Film Producer

    Ms. Cocoa Hau graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University and currently serves as a Film Producer at iQIYI. 

    As Line Producer, she participated throughout the entire making process of I did it My Way (潜行). She has also been deeply involved in aqcuistion, marketing and distribution international films in the Chinese mainland market, including Resident Evil: The Final ChapterThe Angry Birds Movie 2, Pinocchio, The Hummingbird Project, and Alpha

    Ms. Cocoa has extensive experience in film development and distribution, content planning, marketing, and project management. She is well-versed in China’s film and entertainment industry.


Choo Tzer Ying (Veryn)

    Ms. Veryn Choo graduated in Advertising from Peking University in 2017. With nearly nine years of integrated marketing experience in several 4A agencies, she specializes in the FMCG sector and has extensive expertise in digital and brand marketing, as well as market expansion in Southeast Asia.

    She has served clients such as JD.com, Tmall, Mengniu, Pinlive, Nestlé, Darlie, Lenovo, DBS Bank, Shuanghui, and Moutai, covering categories including internet, finance, dairy, ice cream, coffee, toothpaste, meat products, beer, baijiu, snacks, and more.

    Well-versed in both Chinese and Southeast Asian markets and the contemporary media landscape, she provides strategic and content support to promote youth engagement for the Committee.



Paul Rummy (Ph.D)

Academic and Research, Director

Associate Researcher, Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

    Professionally, Paul is a trained wildlife conservationist and paleontologist. Over the past 14 years, he has actively participated in NGOs, scientific expeditions, and research programs in both China and Malaysia. He possesses a deep understanding of China's tertiary academic system and has conducted seminars and popular science programs throughout the country.



Aimee

Chamber Administrator


    Gao Yi studied abroad in Malaysia and is an experienced study abroad consultant, as well as an excellent group leader for educational trips. She has led multiple groups of students to visit universities abroad and facilitated the arrival of foreign students in China to study the Chinese language. With extensive experience in the field of study abroad, she is dedicated to enhancing exchange and cooperation between Malaysia and China's education sectors, contributing to the economic development and cultural prosperity of both nations.

    Currently, Gao Yi serves as the Chamber Administrator of the Chamber, a position she has held for nearly 12 years. In this role, she manages the administrative affairs of the association, providing dedicated services to board members and members. She has played a crucial role in successfully organizing numerous significant events and has maintained perfect attendance. Gao Yi is passionate about her work and actively contributes to the association's objectives.
