Administrative Measures for Local Matching Funds for National Science and Technology Major Projects Released
On 20th October, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission together with two other departments, released the Administrative Measures for Local Matching Funds for National Science and Technology Major Projects. The Local Matching Fund is a local financial support provided by the Shanghai Municipal Government to complement the national funding for major science and technology projects. The new rules aim at encouraging local institutions to actively undertake national science and technology major projects, and accelerating the development of Shanghai as an international science and technology innovation centre. The document outlines the funding sources, management mechanisms, and application procedures for the Local Matching Fund. It took effect on 1st November, and will remain valid until 31st October, 2030.

Shanghai Advanced Energy Equipment Industrial Cluster Officially Inaugurated
On 23rd October, the “Shanghai Advanced Energy Equipment Industrial Cluster” was unveiled, with the aim to contribute to building a leading hub for advanced energy equipment and promoting the green and low-carbon transition. Going forward, the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government signaled its willingness to provide strong support for the development of the cluster, advance the mechanism of “coordination at the municipal level, implementation at the district level, and highlighting the principal role of enterprises”, and help the cluster build a high ground for innovation-driven industries and deepen global linkages.
