Environment Working Group
The Environment Working Group serves as a platform for companies to discuss and exchange best practices, experiences, solutions and recommendations on environmental protection, and also serves as a channel to engage with Chinese government at local and national level to provide support and feedback on environmental regulations, standards and technologies in China.

Hosted the EU–China Plastics Circular Economy forum with NDRC, CFSA and CACE leadership.

Workshop with NDRC on Xiamen’s low-value recyclables recycling model.

Met with Ditte Juul-Joergensen, director general for the Directorate General for Energy (DG ENER) and Jorge Toledo, EU ambassador to China, to discuss the harmonisation of different green electricity certificate frameworks.
16th July 2024
Met with Guo Zhanqiang, secretary general of the CACE, to discuss the cooperation plan for a circular economy during the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference for the 29th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
21st August 2024
Met MOFCOM’s Shanghai deputy commissioner; presented post-consumption textile recycling challenges.
19th September 2024
Participated in the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce Roundtable on Equipment Renewal in the Recycling and Education Sectors and presented plastic and post-consumption textile recycling challenges.
20th November 2024
Met SAMR’s Standards & Innovation DG Xiao Han; conveyed recommendations on standards for food-grade recycled plastics.
25th December 2024
Met with Zhang Deyuan, director of the Circular Economy Research Department, Institute of Economic System and Management, NDRC, to discuss potential advocacy approaches on food-contact application of rPET materials in China.
