10月20日，近3.5万吨化工级重晶石粉自厦门东渡港区国贸码头起航，运往荷兰与意大利。此航次完成后，厦门港该类产品出口总量将突破30万吨，货值超2亿元。
On October 20th, nearly 35,000 metric tons of chemical-grade barite powder were loaded onto the vessel at the ITG Terminal of Dongdu Port Area in Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian Province, destined for the Netherlands and Italy. The shipment will push the total export volume of this product from Xiamen Port to over 300,000 tons, with a value exceeding 200 million yuan ($28 million).
化工级重晶石粉是对粗制重晶石矿石进行研磨、浮选等加工而成的矿物粉末，广泛应用于石油、化工、医疗等领域，是出口到欧洲的重要工业原料之一。
Chemical-grade barite powder is a processed mineral powder derived from crude barite ore through grinding and flotation. It is extensively used in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, and healthcare, making it a crucial industrial raw material exported to Europe.
针对国际运输规则限制难题，厦门海事局国际公约履约研究团队深入企业调研，细致研究，成功向IMO提交《新增化工级重晶石粉为A组货》提案并获得通过。提案明确了重晶石粉的安全运输条件，今年1月1日起，该标准对所有缔约国强制生效，中国标准正式成为国际公认标准。从此，我国化工级重晶石粉有了“国际通行证”，从根本上解决了企业产品出口难题。
Facing challenges posed by international transportation regulations, a team from the Xiamen Maritime Safety Administration, focusing on international convention compliance, conducted thorough investigations and research in collaboration with enterprises. They submitted a proposal to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to classify chemical-grade barite powder as Group A cargo, which was approved.
The proposal outlined the safe transportation requirements for barite powder, and as of January 1st this year, the standard became mandatory for all contracting parties. This recognition established China's standard as an internationally accepted one, effectively granting China's chemical-grade barite powder an "international passport" and resolving the export difficulties faced by enterprises.
目前，我国是化工级重晶石粉最大出口国，年出口量约10万吨，产值上亿元，其中大部分从厦门港海运出口。
China is currently the largest exporter of chemical-grade barite powder, with an annual export volume of approximately 100,000 tons and an output value exceeding 100 million yuan. The majority of which is shipped via Xiamen Port.
