"Please come here，dear king," he said politely, "I can give you happiness."
Then the king walked over and stood beside the general.
Suddenly, the top general killed the king. After the king died, he said："Now, you not only don’t need to worry about power, money and fame，but also don’t need to worry about sleeping badly!"

"What method is that?" the general pressed.
"You can find someone called the Queen Mother of the West—she lives in the north. Bring her back to the palace," the doctor said.
The general set off for the north. It took him a full week to track down the Queen Mother of the West, and after hearing his request, she agreed to help. Another week passed by before they made their way back to the royal palace.
When they arrived, the king asked, "Why did this take so long?" The general then explained about his journey.
The Queen Mother of the West turned to the king and said, "I can lift your spirits, but you must give me all your wealth." The king agreed at once.

The general stood in stunned silence, gazing at the man who owned nothing yet seemed topossess everything. The palace spires gleamed distantly in the fading light.
General:"You're right.Happiness was never in silk robes or gilded halls."

General:"Tomorrow I shall tell the king I found the world's most precious shirt—invisible and priceless,worn by every contented heart."
The poor man smiled and offered more bread.

As night fell, two figures sat side by side in the dusty street, their voices rising in the same joyful melody. And in the distant palace, the king kept waiting for a shirt that would never arrive.

The poor man didn’t have his own shirt, so the general decided to go back to the palace with the poor man. The last day, the king was very unhappy and angry. The king asked. The general said, "Although he is very poor, doesn’t have any power or wealth, he has everything he wants." Then, the poor man asked, "Why are you so unhappy? You have much money, right?" The king said, "I don’t know. I just worry about everything without reason." The poor man said, "Oh, you must believe that there are many people who love you, and you also have everything you want. Look! The general is worried about your mind, and so am I." The king was thinking back to his past. His wife was beautiful and kind, his son was so lovely and clever. Both of them love him forever. The king suddenly laughed. In the end, he found that he was happier than before.

The general was upset. He went back and told all things to the king. The king cried again and couldn't say anything. He went to his bedroom without others. When he looked the sky through windows, he said to the sky: "Why there's no skirt of a happy man around the world? What should I do? My god, can you help me?"
Luckily, the god answered him: "I know you're a man that is unhappy. I want to ask you a question: why you feel unhappy?"
"No reason," the king said to the god.
"Yes. You needn't worry about everything. You have a lot of power, wealth and fame. You have a rich and beautiful country. You don't want any more thing because you have almost all things in the world. Thinking back to the poor man, he don't have anything even though a shirt! But he is happier than you, why?" The god answered again.
The king was surprised. He never thought his life in this way. He said slowly: "I'm a fool! I don't have reason to be unhappy! I know... I know, thanks, my god!"
The god didn't say anything. When the sun shined on his head, the king smiled. He walked to the door and opened it.
He spoke loudly:"I know where is the shirt of happy man!"

Two days passed. When the general wanted to give up, he saw some kids on the street. They were playing games and singing together. The general went up to one of the kids.
"Hello! I'm the king's top general." he said.
"Hello, General. What happened?" the kid said.
"I saw you playing and singing just now, and I think you are very happy." the general answered.
"Yes, I am happy." the kid said.
"But I don't understand. You don't have wealth, power, or fame. Why are you so happy?" the general asked.
"Because I have a lot of friends who often play with me. And I don't have many thing that I have to do." the kid answered.
"Then please go to the palace with me. The king needs your shirt. How much do you want for it?" the general said.
"How much? No, I don't need money. I live happily without money." the kid answered.
After that, the kid went to the palace with the general. And they were called in by the king. The kid took off his shirt and gave it to the king. As soon as the king put on this shirt, he suddenly felt happy.
