The opening round of the Sunday Premier League delivered goals, drama, and plenty of excitement. With momentum building and rivalries reignited, all eyes now turn to Round 2 as where teams will look to build on their starts and make their mark on this brand-new season. Here is the recap from the opening round.
ARSENAL 6 - 3 SPURS
Tottenham finally found a response after the break through Felix, but Arsenal’s Ian quickly restored the cushion with his hat-trick goal. Matvey added a sixth to all but seal it before Spurs fought back with quick goals from Lucas and Leide to reduce the deficit. Platon wrapped things up late on, confirming a convincing win for Arsenal to start their campaign in style.
MAN CITY 10 - 4 MAN UNITED
The Manchester derby was a goal fest from start to finish. Miguel and Dylan put City two up early before Hoyeon pulled one back for United. Nandi then took charge, scoring twice in quick succession to extend City’s lead. United’s Hoyeon hit back again, but Nandi completed his hat-trick moments later, and Sam in his man of the match performance added another before halftime to make it 6–2.
City kept their foot on the gas in the second half as Max, Harvey, and another from Harvey stretched the lead. United’s Martin and Wayne grabbed consolations late on, but Miguel had the final say, rounding off a dominant display as City hit double digits to open the season.
