MEETING #946 Recap

【Keynote】"Add Hollywood to Your Speech"

Ready to move from a good speech to a great one? Hollywood has a simple, proven formula for captivating storytelling, and Vijay Vasant emphasizes that you can use it to make your next presentation unforgettable. The secret isn't star power—it's structure. If your narrative feels flat, you're missing the essential ingredient: the Challenge.

The 6 C's: Your Universal Story Formula

Vijay, drawing lessons from the "hero's journey," broke down how every winning story follows this simple flow to make the audience the hero:

✅Context and Character: Set the stage and introduce the person.

Challenge: The critical struggle or obstacle. A narrative with only success isn't engaging; you need the EKG of ups and downs found in a story like Steve Jobs'.

Choice: The critical decision the character must make.

Change: The transformation and lessons learned after the choice.

Closing: The final message you leave the audience with.

To make your narrative engaging, you must inject those "ups and downs"—the EKG—and focus on a compelling theme like resilience or self-discovery. Applying the 6 C's structure makes even a short anecdote resonate deeply.

Pathways Project Speeches by Members

"Everlasting"

Rosalia Shi

You don't have to have this profound story in your life, but cherish every moment that you had, every single connection or engagement with the close one that you had. Because the feelings are always here and the memories are here.

"What Solo Trip Taught Me"

Lili Wu

Before I traveled like it was a special forces training... But now comfort is my king. The real me, the comfortable me, is confidently beautiful in my own way.

"Waiting for Lions"

Victoria Li

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that communication is inherently uncertain. It requires patience, effort, intention to interpret, to understand.
