来到婆婆家，我们有说不完的话。我问：“近期有人来做上门服务吗？”上门服务是居家养老的一项福利，包括修剪草坪，家居清洁等等。
婆婆答“有哇”，讲起了详细。下面一段小故事就以婆婆的角度用英文来记录吧。
One day, two young men turned up at the door. They rang the bell and said, we're the cleaners. we're here to clean your house up.
I was expecting some cleaners on that same day so I said, oh that's nice . come in please.
I let them in and I had a glance at them. One heavily covered with tattoos and the other got missing teeth. But Both of them had no cleaning gears.
So I asked, do you need a warm bucket of water and some rags?
No. We've brought rags with us. Said the man with tatoos when he pulled out a dry rag from his pocket, Where do you want us to start?
I thought to myself, using a dry rag only to clean up a house? Really? Is there any misunderstanding ? Or there is something different nowadays from what I know about cleaning.
You can start from the kitchen or bathroom if you like. I said.
This man with missing teeth was a shorter man and the other man with tatoos was very tall.
The shorter man had a look at the bathroom light and then turned around went back down stairs. The taller man started to clean the bathroom quickly. He wiped the light cover and the wall above the curtain rod. And then less than two minutes he moved on to the kitchen area.
Soon the shorter man came back with a ladder to the bathroom to wipe the same light cover. By seeing that, I asked, is it dirty up there?
Oh yes, very dirty. it definitely needs a wipe over! The shorter man answered.
