17年4月份，Future发布单曲《Mask Off》，因其明快的旋律，辅以魔性的箫声采样，在短时间里迅速爆红油管。随后同样在多国榜单取得了很好的名次，B榜冲至第5名，成为mumble rap类歌曲中一首极具个人风格和代表性的作品。
但同时，因为beat的特性和Future的个人习惯，整首歌歌词大部分采用短语形式，夹杂一些黑人俚语，对翻译的准确度和连贯性造成了极大的困扰。歌词大意整体来说比较口水，符合一贯的黑人三宝作风。

【注1】MaskOn指在街头帮派行动时用头巾等织物遮住面部以免暴露，这句歌词的意思代指Future明目张胆的指挥同伙行凶。

【注3】a whole 'nother代表强调的意思。
【注4】Graduated本意结业，译为告别或脱离。overdue本意延期，译为很长时间。因此翻译成金盆洗手或者自立门户都是可以的。
【注5】promethazine译为异丙嗪，此处代指咳嗽糖浆。rapper饮用的lean主要成分是含有可待因和异丙嗪的咳嗽糖浆，辅料为饮料和软糖。
