On October 24, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong held a briefing on China-Iceland relations. Representatives from Icelandic mainstream media such as Morgunblaðið and Saga Radio, members of the Icelandic-Chinese Cultural Society (KIM) and the Icelandic-Chinese Trade Council (IKV), as well as friends from various sectors attended the event. Ambassador He gave an overview of the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women and the meeting between the Presidents of China and Iceland, noting that the two heads of state had reached broad consensus on deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Iceland, thus laying a solid foundation for the future development of bilateral relations. Ambassador He also briefed on key outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, emphasizing that China will be steadfast in implementing its 15th Five-Year Plan, firmly committing itself to high-standard opening-up, and continuing to be a reliable partner for all countries, including Iceland.
Several Icelandic guests shared their recent experiences visiting China, speaking highly of China’s effective governance and remarkable achievements in modernization, and expressing strong confidence in the future bilateral cooperation. Ambassador He also also had a Q&A session with the audience on topics such as direct flights between China and Iceland and bilateral economic cooperation. The event was immersed in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
