SHANGHAI - On 4 September, Consul General Myca Magnolia M. Fischer met with officials of the Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of the Public Security Bureau at their headquarters in the Pudong District of this city.
Leading the Bureau’s side was its Director General, Madame Qiu Ling, together with officers from its International Law Enforcement and Foreigners’ Division.
The two sides had substantial discussion centering on the protection of the welfare of Filipinos and other foreigners in Shanghai. Consul General Fischer conveyed her appreciation for all the support and cooperation the Public Security Bureau has extended to Filipinos who choose to reside, work, study and tour in Shanghai.
Director General Qiu mentioned that Shanghai is becoming a popular destination for Filipino workers and tourists, as she shared that there are currently 1,700 Filipinos staying in Shanghai based on their records, and around 50,000 Filipinos who visited Shanghai in 2024.
上海——09月04日,方明易总领事在浦东新区的上海市公安局出入境管理局总局办公楼拜会了市出入境领导。总领事收到了邱岭局长以及公安局国际合作处和外国人事务处相关负责领导的亲切接见。
双方在保障驻沪菲律宾侨民及其他旅沪外国侨民合法利益方面进行了富有成效的讨论。方明易总领事向市公安局长期以来一直给予在上海旅居、工作、学习和旅游的菲律宾侨民的支持与合作表示感谢。
邱局长表示,根据出入境记录,目前有1700位菲律宾侨民居住在上海,2024年约有50000菲律宾人访沪,上海正成为菲律宾侨民选择工作和旅游的热门目的地。
出入境也同时充分回应了总领事馆关切的一些问题,诸如出入境签证、居留许可等,解释了签证及居留相关规定,表示定将支持总领事馆在保护其侨民方面的举措。(完)
