The 2026/2027 Chinese Government Scholarship is now open for application . Online application (www.campuschina.org) and the corresponding application documents should be submitted in the system before February 8, 2026. There is no need to send paper materials to the embassy.
Scholarship Introduction
China – Indonesia Scholarship in Higher Education Program
- 20 Places for undergraduate/master's/doctoral programs(it is used for recruiting students who go to China to study marine, medical, health, tourism, education and other required majors)
- Full scholarship
- Does not include international travel expenses
Eligibility：To be eligible, applicants must
- be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically;
- be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;
- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
- be a high school graduate (at least) under the age of 45 when applying for general scholar programs;
- be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs;
- take the "China Scholastic Competency Assessment (short as CSCA)" and upload a valid score report (Appendix 4) when applying for bachelor programs. CSCA score report will be one of the necessary materials for admission review by universities. For more information about CSCA, please visit www.csca.cn;
- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinese-taught general scholar programs (studying Chinese language are exempted);
- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinese-taught senior scholar programs;
- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs;
- applicants who have obtained the degree from Chinese university using Chinese as teaching language do not need to provide relevant language proficiency certificates；
- meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic ability, language proficiency and other relevant criterial.
Application Documents
a) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English).
b) Passport Home Page: Applicants are required to submit a clear scanned copy of the information page of their ordinary passports. If the validity period of the currently held passport is less than 12 months (calculated from the expected start date of study), please renew the passport and use it to complete the scholarship application. An applicant who fails to apply for a passport due to objective reasons may submit valid documentation or documentary evidence that carries information about the full English name, gender, nationality and date of birth of the applicant upon the approval of the application receiving agency.
c) Notarized highest diploma: Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
d) Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
e) Language qualification certificates. Applicants for master's, doctoral, general scholar, and senior scholar programs taught in Chinese must submit a valid HSK score report that meets the corresponding Chinese language proficiency requirements. Applicants for programs taught in other languages are required to provide relevant language proficiency certificates, such as IELTS or TOEFL score reports, in accordance with the requirements of each university.
f) CSCA Score Report. Applicants seeking to pursue a bachelor's degree must register for and take the CSCA before the application deadline, and obtain a valid Score Report. Please contact the target institution to inquire about and obtain the required test subjects for the applied major. Applicants intending to enroll in September 2026 are required to register for and take the CSCA on December 21, 2025, or January 25, 2026.
g) Pre-Admission Documents. All applicants must provide a pre-admission document issued by the universities applying. Pre-admission documents include pre-admission notice issued by the international students’ admission department or invitation letter from the schools or professors, etc. Applicants must provide at least one of pre-admission documents from the universities they applied for.
h) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. (A minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students, and 800 words for postgraduates.)
i) Recommendation letters: Applicants for graduate programs or senior scholar programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.
j) Example of Art. To apply for art or design related majors, applicants could submit their own works through “Example of Art/Other Supporting Documents” in the system. Applicants could also provide such materials to the applied universities directly in other ways.
k) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.
l) Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.
m) Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
Reminder: Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.
Time Frames
1) From now on to February 8, 2026
Applicants check the website (www.campuschina.org) for information about Chinese universities and scholarship programs, contact their favorite Chinese universities and obtain the Pre-Admission Documents, submit their online application (Indonesian Agency Number is 3602).
2) February 9 to March 5, 2026
The embassy sends all recommended applications to China Scholarship Council for final review.
3) July to August, 2026
Applicants can check the admission results in the system by themselves. The embassy notifies the scholarship winners to download the admission notice and JW201 visa form from the system.
Reminder
Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to obtain other scholarships (excluding one-time awards) established by the Chinese government at all levels and the admitted universities at the same time. Once found, their Chinese Government Scholarship qualifications will be cancelled, and the received scholarships must be returned. Those who deliberately conceal their funding status will be disqualified and will not be allowed to apply for Chinese Government Scholarships within three years.
