Nevada Lithium Resources taps Hydro Lithium for US project

Canadian company Nevada Lithium Resources and South Korean group Hydro Lithium have joined forces for the Bonnie Claire lithium project in Nevada, US, Kallanish reports.
根据一份意向书，该矿商将评估Hydro Lithium的开采技术，以便从奈县的矿区开采关键矿物，希望这些技术能带来“额外的收入来源”。
Under a letter of intent, the miner will evaluate Hydro Lithium’s extraction technologies to recover critical minerals from the site in Nye County, in the hope they will generate “additional revenue streams,” the company says.
Nevada Lithium Resources表示，双方还将探讨合作开采北美其他矿产中的关键矿物，但未透露更多细节。意向书不具约束力，将于2026年9月到期，除非签署最终协议。
The pair will also explore a collaboration to recover critical minerals from other North American properties, says Nevada Lithium Resources, without giving more details. The LOI is non-binding and will expire in September 2026, unless a definitive agreement is signed.

Dr Uong Chon, ceo of Hydro Lithium, is credited with the development of POSCO’s lithium extraction technology, PosLX. At Hydro Lithium, Chon has developed technology for battery-grade lithium chemical production and lithium extraction from natural resources.

The company currently produces 3,600 tonnes/year of battery-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate at the Geumsan-gun facility in South Korea. It is now building a second plant in Saemangeum, Cheolabuk-do, with an anticipated capacity of 10,000 t/y of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide in 2027, rising to 50,000 t/y in 2030.

Last month, Nevada Lithium Resources published a preliminary economic assessment for Bonnie Claire, its only project under development. Requiring an estimated $2.1 billion initial capital expenditure, the mine is estimated to produce 62,300 t/y of lithium carbonate over a 61-year life.
