Thanks to the joint efforts of China and South Korea, the Qingdao-Cheju international container liner service — the first of its kind in Jeju's history — was launched at the Qingdao Cruise Terminal on Oct 16, which will enable direct shipping services between China's Qingdao and South Korea's Cheju. The new service is operated by SPG's Shandong Marine Corporation, aiming to provide efficient and stable seaborne logistics corridor between China and South Korea.
SPG on Oct 14 held a seminar on integrated supply chain services in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Attendees from government departments, customs, railways, shipping companies, as well as key trade and logistics enterprises gathered together to engage in in-depth discussions on facilitating international logistics corridors and expanding integrated supply chain services. The overall aim is to embark on a new chapter of Shandong-Xinjiang cooperation and jointly build a new highland for opening-up along the Silk Road.
The Shandong provincial State-owned assets and State-owned enterprises report 2024 release event kicked off in Jinan on Oct 16. SPG, together with another nine provincial State-owned enterprises, was awarded "Top 10 Cases" of fulfilling social responsibilities.
A carrier named Sunny Sky unloaded 176,000 tons of Guinean bauxite at Yantai Port and carried 29,900 tons of machinery, vehicles and construction materials on its return voyage back to Africa. This has brought Yantai Port's annual maritime traffic on the China-Africa breakbulk liner service to over four million tons for the first time, representing a year-on-year growth of 53.5 percent, a record high since the service was launched in 2015. The service has become a popular one for accelerating the export of made-in-China products, serving overseas project development, contributing SPG's strengths to boosting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and upgrading China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
