近日，欧洲宠物食品联合会(FEDIAF)公开宣布，已发布最新版本的《猫狗完整和补充宠物食品营养指南》，用以支持欧洲宠物食品行业的不断友展。

该指南上一次更新是在2021年，距今已有三年之久。2024年版发生的最大变化之一，是其根据猫粮的生命阶段、健康状况和活动水平纳入了关于猫粮推荐营养水平的最新行业研究。

【FEDIAF releases new edition of nutritional standards guidelines for dogs and cats】

Recently, the European Pet Food Federation (FEDIAF) publicly announced that it has released the latest version of the "Nutritional Guidelines for Complete and Complementary Pet Foods for Dogs and Cats" to support the continuous development of the European pet food industry.

The last update of this guideline was in 2021. It has been three years since then. One of the biggest changes in the 2024 edition is that it incorporates the latest industry research on recommended nutritional levels for cat food according to the life stage, health status, and activity level of cats.

【Nestlé Purina invests £150 million to upgrade UK factory】

Nestlé is investing over £150 million ($167 million) to modernize and upgrade the Nestlé Purina PetCare factory in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. This includes new technologies and machinery for production lines, as well as initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The factory produces UK pet food brands such as Felix, Gourmet, and Winalot.

【Nestlé Purina partners with University of California, Davis】

Nestlé Purina PetCare has announced a five-year partnership with the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) to advance scientific understanding of urinary tract diseases in dogs and cats.

Purina has allocated nearly $1 million over five years to enable companion animal veterinarians to provide free urolith analysis results for patients at the GVLing Urolith Analysis Laboratory (USAL) at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in Davis, California.

The USAL will provide free analysis, interpretation, and consultation for up to 800 new stone cases per year for veterinary practitioners over the next five years. Researchers hope to use this data to improve their understanding of urolithiasis management and abnormal tissue mineralization.

新加坡动物与兽医服务局 (AVS) 于 2024 年 5 月推出的猫管理框架现已生效。

【Singapore mandates microchipping for cats】

The cat management framework launched by Singapore's Animal & Veterinary Under this policy, cat owners must license their cats by August 31, 2026. After this deadline, it is prohibited to keep unlicensed cats under the Animals and Birds Act.

Microchipping is a prerequisite for obtaining a license in Singapore. Cat owners can apply for these licenses through AVS's Pet Animal Licensing System (PALS). First-time applicants must complete a free online course on basic pet care and responsible ownership.

In addition, this framework allows tenants of Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats to keep a maximum of two cats and one dog. Private premises can keep a maximum of three cats or three dogs. Owners with more than the allowed number of cats can keep their pets if they are licensed during the two-year transition period and the health and welfare of the cats are properly managed.
